An observational documentary series that follows the personal stories of sailors aboard HMS Illustrious during a rare four month deployment. One of only two aircraft carriers in the British Naval fleet, the 20,000 tonne ship has a crew of 1,000, as well as its own mayor, police force and fire service. Something tells me this is quickly gonna become one of my favorite series. Seeing a humongous warship like this, how it operates, and how each part is important to keep it well running is amazing!
Is it just me that gets really confused about these HUGE ships?
I miss this ship
1:04 “Two years ago of planning has gone into this moment”. Two days later they are back into port with a broken ship and later are days behind planning…..
It’s like a really interactive cruise ship!
The father and son are spitting images of each other! Lol 😛
Kind of disastrous story
Rusty lusty
I wouldn't exactly call it 'This warships might' with a VERY small number of aircraft in a very small carrier.
4 Month deployment?Whe I joined, 12 months was the norm, plus it was an proper carriers.
Action messin when I joined('62) consisted of the cooks bringing round corned do sarnies and mugs of hot soup to your action station, none of this going to the dining hall stuff. If you were closed up-you were closed up!
Only about 10+ years late
Imagine if that ship went round the world helping people with medical aid and famine for example but humans arnt like that are they
Is the entire series available on here? I can only find this episode
This is an old TV documentary – UK does not have Harrier Jump jets anymore and I'm not even sure HMS Illustrious still exists?
