  1. Ahhh yeah he's the one that hates the tactical fans, look I've never served I got plenty of respect for everyone that does and has, I have friends and family that serve. I mean isn't the word Tactical derived from Tactics, which can be absolutely taught to someone willing to learn…sooo if you were to find yourself in a "situation" wouldn't it be a advantage to use Tactical gear?? So why wouldn't you use that advantage, that tactic if you will. I mean, a uniform is one thing, but a carrier and helmet, etc isn't a uniform….is he just grumpy? or just that ego trip is strong?

  2. all these wanna be people have a voice behind the keyboard . It affords them opportunity to say things they dont have the balls to say in person. Real men seek real men and dont welcome whinny bitches. if the term " its not for everyone" means you, then just get over yourself because you will never be welcome by those who can. get over it. move on. my Dojong was not for everyone and real hardcore people heard about us and came to train. Some who came, were not able to hang. Some of those who could not, were inspired . Now they can. These people did not complain on line. They stepped up, put in the work and earned respect

  3. I’m a marine 0311, Dakota Myers may be a little rough around the edges but what marine grunt isn’t. I love the dude and I think people just can’t handle the fact that he isn’t your typical MOH where you go around and put on a fake face to look like a politician. He’s not that he says what he says. He’s real and I respect that 1000% fuck everybody who’s got shit to say. They don’t know half of what that man has experienced. So who they aren’t important.

  4. Quite frankly, I've never heard a MOH recipient publicly make disparaging remarks about civilians or having a chip on their shoulder until this guy came along. He exudes a bitterness and vitriol that appears to reveal an individual that is screaming for help inside.
In my opinion, only those who have received the medal have the right to judge his behavior.
My comments are merely an observation of that behavior not a judgement.

  5. Just because someone is a vet decorated or not doesn't mean they are by default a good or respectable person, after all traits that are great for combat may not translate to good traits once they are back home.

  6. As a non-combat Vet, my take is that part of Dakota is “still out there” and has never come home… He seems emotionally out of balance, unless he is in a controlled environment, like on Joe Rogan.
    No judgement:

  7. I agree with Dakota Meyer in so far as, there are dudes who did and didn't serve who try to go out in public and give off a badass veteran type of vibe, they didn't earn. I'm blessed to have been a peace time veteran but I do see dudes out there (vets and non vets ) who do get dressed up, however subtle or overt to try and put there finger in to other people's chest – be it at work, the bar, the range or just in general. I was telling a former Army Airborne coworker of mine how these types of individuals will let their guard down and strut their stuff in front of someone, like me who let's it be known I was merely a deck seaman on a ship in the 1990's- but, they will be a lot more subtle in front of the real thing. Stolen Valor is evolving.

  8. Kindness is a weakness to the indecent but virtuous to the decent. Dakota is just a abrasive man and has been long before he got M.O.H. I hope he finds peace in life so he can be happy.

  9. Let's sit here and judge a Marine who killed for this country. Not everyone is a superhero in every aspect of their life. Recovery from war is long road. For my fellow Marines who are using this to beat down another Marine, you know better.

Most and I mean the vast majority of veterans haven't seen combat even once. Consider that, the next time you ask a veteran for their opinion on matters such as these. And yes, it matters greatly. He has an opinion and he's entitled to it, just like you.

  10. To be honest they probably are thousands of other higher qualified Marines could have had that metal too and yes for me I believe he's just douching on everybody thinking he's better to be honest it's just a little shit boy especially he did not respect any of your elders before him or any other respect from other Marine it doesn't matter he should respect everybody every Marine every Soldier every civilian you should respect everybody

  11. Dakota does the same thing with his gym that he complains about civs with plate carriers and rifles, he has never fought in a cage, he shouldn’t dress up like an MMA fighter and pretend he is going to the UFC. There are thousands of men who never served who would tap him out, out lift him and box him up in a cage.

He is dropping the ball of what he could be to the entire nation of young men, instead he walks with a chip on his shoulder the size of a funyon.

  12. The guy was a hero on one day. Amazing sh*t and props to him.

That doesn’t make him a hero every day. The world is filled with people who did something exemplary and their lives were otherwise unremarkable. I don’t know the man, but it seems as if he’s keeping his powers get to his head. There are hundreds of men who did amazing, brave stuff over there and went unrecognized. I think he should live his life and maybe tone it down a bit. Just one man’s opinion, nothing more.

  13. If you read his MOH citation, then read the actual after-action report. You will scratch your head and ask, "how?" I don't know the Marine, but I wish he would be like other MOH recipients; they wear it for their fallen brothers, the ones that never got to come home.
Also, remember this, the Corps, during that time, was having to answer a lot of questions about why, before Dakota got his MOH, only two Marines had been awarded the MOH; it's not like the Corps was not in combat, and then BOOM, Dakota, MOH.
This is my opinion, and he has the right to be an ass all he wants.
