Across several games, I've seen you lose squad members, lose animals in your settlements, kill potential companions and other NPCs (innocent or otherwise), get stuck in various deathloops, massacre entire towns, and even have an entire city turn on you. In all that, I don't think I've seen such an animated reaction as you finding your fish dead, lol. If you were "friendlier" to Kelly she would've eventually offered to feed your fish… since she comes up to your room and all 😉 Not sure if it's still possible at this stage of the game though, maybe worth a try if you decide to get new fish. Regarding the game ending, yes, you can keep playing after the (rather long) end credits. The game will ask if you want to keep playing or start a new game. This will allow you to do Arrival or any other missions you haven't done, or explore systems you haven't been to.
yes do arrival after the end of the game
