8. This is why shunsui said hitsugaya would surpass him eventually. Hitsugaya is young and naive, so even though he is strong, most of his attacks are made to bind his enemy instead of wounding them, he still feels hesitant of killing unlike the older captains

12. [Tidbits & Clarifications]
    – The concept of Zombie Toshiro is very fascinating, Toshiro is not only the youngest captain but he's also the most pure-hearted and honorable. Here we get to see what what a more ruthless Toshiro looks like. He's concise, intentful, and creative, like how he uses the ice as an extension of his body to make a knee blade or even immediately seal his wounds the moment they occur.

    – We get slight character growth on Yumichika here, we know that he doesn't want to show anyone in squad 11 his real ability because he thinks they'll no longer accept him as a real squad 11 warrior, yet despite that he was ready to use his real shikai the moment Ikkaku was about to really die
    (This is very different compared to when Ikkaku was Fighting Edrad and Yumichika simply called for a funeral instead helping)

    – In the Manga version of these events Byakuya fights against the 3 Sternritter never happened, we only cut to them all being defeated. From what we understand we can expect tons of original and extended fights in the next 2 cours.

    – Robert [Quincy with a gun] Seems very on edge, he's yelling and sweating and with the way he's speaking it makes it seem as if you have to do enough to be acknowledged by Yhwach otherwise something bad may happen.

    – We learned in Kubo's fanclub Klub Outside that Byakuya wasn't affected by the love ability because he's wearing clothing from the Zero Squad which has special protective capabilities.

    – Pepe uses cupid symbolism yet the idea overall is supposed to be a perversion of love, one that is vile and nasty, which is why his Volstanding looks repulsive.
    [Sidenote, Pepe was the one controlling Jidanbo, (The Giant who Protects the Wall) to attack the research and development division when Ichigo was on the phone last season.]

15. Up until this point Mayuri is the only Captain who could actually put up a fight. It goes without saying that Kubo wanted to relay a message to the reader – you can do nothing sticking to your traditions and rules.

20. Tite Kubo was a bastard when he made Hitsugaya fight better against his own allies and not against enemies, I know there's an explanation for that, but even so, it was a very strange choice…

21. Hitsugaya is really hesitant and talks too much way too often. Sure some level of carefulness is a must but look, as a zombie, he was cruel and really strong. Because his way of fighting changed .

There is a scene where you see Giselle approach at least Toshiro and Rangiku, not sure about the others, but it's before her power is fully revealed and you don't sit on the scene as long as in the manga. The Marching out the Zombies segment definitely has some really exotic matchups though… lmao

32. Guys… you have to pay attention. Soul Reapers cannot be controlled when they are dead. Quincies can only be controlled when they are dead.
    Basically, every zombie Quincy you see is dead. Every Zombie Soul Reaper you see is still alive.

34. Pepe definitely one of the weakest, but I think part of the reason behind that is because he usually doesn't have to be strong per say. He can use his "Love" to make other people fight for him. So it's the people he puts under the influence of his "Love" that has got to be strong, not him – that's what matters, with his abilities. But that strategy is obviously not without its flaws, as we could all see in this episode.

35. Side note, but I was hoping they would change one thing in the anime.

    In the manga, just like in this episode, Rangiku appears with Kensei and Rose as a zombie because Giselle turned all of them. They split up in three, fighting the Arrancars – one each. However, after that, we only see Kensei and Rose. For example when Mayuri turns them into his own Zombies or when they go help Byakuya under Mayuri's commands. However, if you've read the manga, then you'll know it's obviously implied the same thing happened to Rangiku, but Kubo basically just forgot about her or couldn't be bothered to give her the most minimal panel-time ever, so she is literally just not…….shown.

    Very weird stuff, and could have easily been fixed with the anime.

Pepe was actually a very, very dangerous Stternriter; had he fought almost anyone else everyone would be fucked since he could have controlled them and their zanpakutos; hell, only reason Byakuya couldn't be controlled was thanks to the clothes the squad zero made him, otherwise Pepe would have controlled Byakuya. Just like with Gremmy, Pepe was unlucky enough to fight against his best counter: Mayuri with his zombies.

38. It happened so fast that most people missed it but when Yumichika saved Ikkaku he tried to call his zanpakutou by its true name "Ruri iro Kujaku". He was willing to reveal it in front of everyone.
