There are definitely others who could have beaten Pernida, but Mayuri was the one guy he didn't stand a chance against. And Uryu continues to be the weakest person Mayuri has ever fought and the only one who didn't lose in a completely one sided beat down… or whatever you call battling Mayuri.

I hope we get an Uryu vs Mayuri rematch where Mayuri uses quincy related inventions against Uryu it would only make sense since they recalled the 20 seconds line between Uryu and renji from the Szayel Aporro fight and Mayuri happened to be the one to save them both on top of the history mayuri and uryu share it would be a very good rematch and would fit the whole anime only stuff they’ve been adding for uryu
