Is the TTC safe? NOPE. The infrastructure is falling apart, they CONSTANTLY allow homeless people to invade the stations to sleep and or panhandle, oh and they haven't fixed overcrowding AT ALL during this pandemic and continue to cram you in like sardines while insisting that everywhere else you need 2 meters and all this nonsense. It goes to show that anyone who takes the TTC is seen as insignificant and disposable.

Toronto does not have enough money to put screen doors on all the stations they need provincial help and right now the province is focusing on new stations. So really, just stay to the walls of the station until the train comes to a complete stop, just follow safety tips of being in the subway and move on.

John Tory doesn’t ride the subway to get to work so his opinion and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee. Ask people who use the subway twice a day or more. . I have never felt he subway was a safe place especially with the numbers of immigrants from 3rd world countries flood the city. I put my back against the wall and stay there till the train arrives whenever I have to use the over crowded system.
