My bf was like that and I put my dog in a different room for the first few times he was over. He didn’t like the sensory overwhelm of her jumping up and licking him, standard autism stuff. He’s warmed up to her and she’s calmed down around him so now he loves her so much and brags to other people about how cool our dog is hehe. Says she can “do no wrong, unless she eats my noodles”.
Being unsure around dogs does not make someone a bad person. A little bit of empathy and patience can often resolve things like this. That being said if someone actually mistreats animals and is not just setting boundaries that’s a SKIP if I’ve ever seen one.

JOB'S ONLY ONCE YOU WORKING AT 100% EFFICIENCY AT ALL TIMES AND DON'T CARE WHEN YOU BREAK DOWN BECAUSE THEY DON'T CONCEPTUALIZE THE IDEA THAT EVEN MACHINES AREN'T SUPPOSED TO RUN AT FULL CAPACITY AT ALL TIMES
