Final Fantasy XVI Game of the YEAR. MAN I was not expecting so much heat. I still am mad PlayStation state of play waited until the end to upload the 4K version. We should be able to watch that version from a premiere but oh well. We still reacted to bits of the 4K towards the end but you guys enjoy! This new final fantasy 16 state of play footage was amazing.

"there is no need to have played any of the previous FF games" because this series has turned into a overly hyped basic hack n slash game. Why on earth is ANYONE excited for this game? Everything about this game from the story, to the combat mechanics and character designs is SO generic looking. No one seems to understand that this is just another test bed game for SE's next Kingdom heats knock off.

Just think of the other hidden summons or who knows we are a Blue Mage Summoner so we will see I bet there hiding so much more stuff.
Did anyone catch anything about status effects in combat? Weakness exploits? Blind, berserk, poison? Anything?
Or is it all just physical & general magic abilities that doesn't really matter as long as you pull of super sick flashy combos in quick succession?
Like… if you get caught in battle with only ice abilities against an ice enemy, will you actually see struggle or defeat causing you to rebuild & try again using weakness exploits?
Don't get me wrong. The game looks amazing & I am sure I will thoroughly enjoy it. Pre-order is happening. However, i'm going to be disappointed if the ENTIRE thing just revolves around trying as hard as you can to get the biggest combo.
We all know how these types of action games always turn out. Everyone finds that one super OP combo move & ability. Then the combat just becomes boring because everyone always just uses the same broken build. All other builds & combos become pointless unless you specifically want to do a challenge run avoiding it.
I hope it doesn't turn out to be like that.

This game looks Awesome. I'm glad I only have 9 more days left here in Nebraska after my stem cell transplant on January 13th. I will be home in time to pre order it and start playing final fantasy 7 crisis core.

Wow, this game is going to be off the charts. I think I'm gonna end up dying so many times because I'll be too busy admiring how cinematic the fights are and forget to keep playing. I am so hyped for June, I think I am more excited for this game than FF7 Remake's first installment and next installment… and that's saying something! Hard mode is gonna be so much fun!

Looks dope, but what makes a great FF Game for me are the memorable characters, and that Will be hard to do with a single protagonista, no party of other characters to get attached to.
I Will reserve My judgement before saying Game of the year.

Nothing about what they showed was minimal combat. They were showing extremely complex combos utilizing multiple Eikon switches
