The suspected gunman in a shootout that stemmed from a Roseville hostage situation that left one person dead escaped law enforcement custody on Sunday morning, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. 35-year-old Eric James Abril escaped from the Sutter Roseville Medical Center, sheriff’s officials said.
