This ass backwards Update needs a little bit more then a hot fix. This rework needs a rework. Pathetic
Lots of nice fixes and improvements. Looking forward to the patch.
One addition got me scratching my head though.
They now give us a massive amount of autonomy to tailor our game play to our liking.
Then they introduce what I think is a childproof lock on a game setting?
If you create a save on punishing settings because you enjoy that particular play style then why would you have to activate a feature to keep you from changing ,lol 😂 .
If you're tempted to toggle on/off easier settings then maybe one shouldn't play in a hard core style.
I mean does one really get bragging rights if they un-nurf themselves at will?
Idk, just seems silly to me that HG feels they need to protect people from themselves 🤣
I actively participated in all the discussions about how the change in inventory halves the upgrades with seemingly no thought put in rebalancing upgrades themselves. Now all's done. That's it. All my claims and accusations are lifted. Even if 3 buffed upgrades still will be worse than 6 upgrades before buffs, and even if "agility" won't fully recoven the former glory of my ships – it's all not that big of a deal now. I now clearly see that they did put thought into balancing new upgrade system. This is all I needed – indication of deep enough thoughtfullness behind their changes. Let's play the game, guys! 😀
HG has always listened to constructive criticism and has been uniquely generous for years. They deserve patience and trust that they will continue to listen and respond to the community. This is an ongoing process that is not advanced by toxicity. Thanks, Beebs.
I play on series x and my games been running at like 30fps since the update. Couple that with some stuttering and it's been really hard to play since I'm used to 60 fps.
I'm very happy about this. It's a little different than my thoughts on the issue, but this is way better!
I keep falling through the floor it doesn’t kill me but takes a while to spawn back up on the surface.
Tx for the good news! Needed that
Great list of hotfixes.
The changes are so good, and I think a major sign to all of us that Hello Games is listening. Locking the difficulty, that was a major one brought up by Captain Steve and I am glad they included it!
Blown away by the speed of this hotfix. Great changes & cannot wait to see how they implemented!
Im getting some new severe graphics stuttering issues that were not present on the 11/10 experimental release…
of course, reported via zen desk, but, assuming its not just me… I suspect, we will need another patch before this goes public.
Scrapping your only starship. Beebs, I laughed a bit louder than you when you said that. Ouch.
I have +1000 h in the game and will need to grind a lot of hours to regain my stats, I have NO problem with this what so ever, it was time. HG are still the best community in the world, give them a break and enjoy the best space game there is, for a 1000 h more…. great vid!
To be honest, when I first saw the original patch notes, I thought they had boosted the bonuses on the upgrades to begin with. Oh well, least this hopefully get those that demand the use of 6 upgrades to stop with that.
Any idea when?
I don't understand the philosophy of "I hope i'm not too strong" when you upgrade? Then? Don't get the upgrade.
I wonder how much different the ship "specialization" stat now. Can fighters deal even more dmg than exotic now? Or explorer having significantly higher hyperdrive range than exotic? How about my shuttle? Are they less shitty now? XD
I dont like this update at all. If people want to stay with old ship upgrades version, at least since you made basically a cheat option, add the option for players to choose legacy (old) or new version. Why destroy the fun for the people that want old ship upgrades just because X like this way? I feel like being manipulated by a group of people that like this way. NMS it is a single player game dammit with a junk MP. Also return the old mining prices, its absurd.
I'm pretty happy HG manage to do patch fixes so fast.
They didnt fix a single thing that people were upset about.
YES CUSTOM LOCK THIS IS WHAT I WANTED! NO LONGER CAN CRIMINALS COME INTO MY HOUSE AND CHANGE MY NMS GAMEMODE!!!
my big issue with waypoint was my light year range dropped from 1500 ly+ to 768 ly but when I tried to swap out a module it dropped to 160 and while trying to restore the original module the slot was blocked as in broken
The bit about tech not breaking while the shields are charged (basically what they seemed to intend based on the initial update) is really big. Having 3 pieces break in a 10s timespan when my shields are nearly full was rough…especially since one was the jetpack itself. Seems like they over tuned it and are just dialing it down into place.
I hope they fix the issue of navigating frieghter storage containers, I can navigate them forward but not backwards which is kinda very annoying
After playing the current state I really don't think we need to be rebuffed. It won't make us any more powerful than pre 4.0 so I guess if it makes some people happier go for it. Thanks Beeble for being awesome through the drama.
Agree on the damage from whippey plants etc I too really liked it and seems it is across the board seems like they are catering to the vocal minority to me this nerfed the update and I and a lot of the. Permadeath community will be disappointed having loved the update as it was
While scoping out the new Atlas station I was ambushed by 4 pirates in my organic starship. They were hitting hard and I went to hide in the Atlas Station. My ship's heart (central launch thrusters module) got damaged. Since I keep materials stocked it was a quick fix. In a survival game, personally I would expect some general preparation to be required.
At first I was alright. They are making the right steps. But now that I having been thinking of it. It's still unacceptable. Until they return what was taken. That was rightfully earned. Accepting anything other is allowing HG to walk all over me.
Look, I follow about five of you guys doing good NMS content. I thought, my best chance of getting viewed was here. They absolutely crippled survival players with this inventory "Upgrade". There was a reason "Cargo" and "General Inventory" were separate. We DONT LOSE CARGO! We, as survivor players had to manage our inventory accordingly. If I died, all items in general inventory were gone. GONE! But what we had in cargo was safe. SAFE! We had to juggle that inventory! This was the point of SURVIVAL! Now its all in one category!?!? Great, now I play normal, or permadeath……
after thinking about the new fixes for a while and highly appreciating the support we get from HG to make this a game for everyone, i still think the custom difficulty should be changed. But this is mostly because of the multiplayer aspect of the game. Any gifts or even exchange of inventory in the anomaly or multiplayer becomes pointless if everyone still can have everything any time they want to. Also, if you go on missions with other players who play in a specific mode you previously knew that they were all on the same page and their achievements are valid and appreciated. Now you still can play survival, get into god mode for a while and get back to survival at any time playing with other survival players in the same universe. That makes the multiplayer aspect very unbalanced in my opinion and also for future development very hard to align if the multiplayer element will be improved to keep players playing the game after they have done everything in single player.
So i would prefer to play in a specific mode plus a custom mode and you still can enter custom mode from any other mode but once you change a single parameter your save becomes a custom mode permanently. Maybe only a few players will care about this, because everyone plays this game differently.
I just discovered, that ALL of the modules in the tech slots of the exo suite the space ship and the multi tool get damaged, when you enter a new galaxy throught the center of the galaxy. That is a lot of technology to fix. Before update 4 I think the tech slots in the exosuite and space ship were safe.
