Commenting for the algorithm
to be fair, a lot of the church people in CK3 get superstonks because they basically have nothing to do with it. so him having 18k is really him having nothing to do and so it banks up. It becomes more superstonks if they/you are head of faith and people in your realm have indulgences, they will use gold to pay it off and you roughly get one person every 3-5 days and its generally 50-100 gold a swing
if you go down the raider perk tree in marshal lifestyle you can get piety renown prestige and prisoners from raiding. might be the quickest way
With the death of another child, I sincerely hope that El-Rang gets the lead out and sprints to reforming the religion. I don't think I want to be around El-Rang when, not if, the news of Loreckless's death comes knocking. The last spark of the union between him his first wife snuffed out before her time.
I definitely feel like it's time for El-rang to dich his current wife for the person who is clearly trying to win him over. After all his current wife has not only cheated on him but has now attempted to sabotage one of his artifacts she is clearly plotting against him. She has also made a fool out of herself more than once at El-rang's feasts.
"El-Rang Elfboi, Fashion Lich" has a certain je ne sais rien to it.

Mr streamer, building temples with the vast sums of money that'll come from murdering your prelate seems like an el-rang way to bump up his piety! Also, is there no way for a (better) prelate to boost piety per month?
Laying with a summoned creature and starting Holy Wars is a great way of showing how much your spouse sleeping around doesn't bother you.
With the death of his kids to marinora, it could be argued that el rang may be convinced to cast her off and give her crown to his new daedra lover

El-rang is in the perfect spot to divorce Marinora and marry a Daedra, like was proposed all those decades ago.
Oh no, El-Rang in blind vengeance broke his one rule to never kill a family member. He might as well be an unfeeling lich right now 😉
Also… loyal El-Rang who never really loved Marinora, who is continually cheating on him and messing with him by the way, falls in love with a deadra. Just saying. There would be a case to divorce Marinora and marry the dremora. I mean El-Rang and Marinora are best friends, that does not mean they have to be married.

You probably want to marry the dedra to allow yourself to have more children so that your dynasty spreads. Also you would probably want to do it fast before you become a lich because then you will not be able to have any more children
El-rang is a loyal man, him being cheated on more than once is more than enough for him to decide to switch to the dremora who seduced him

Honestly I can't wait to see how amazing El-Rang's going to look when he becomes a lich. The graphics of the undead in this mod look awesome.
Dremora can't make bab and they also disappear after 5 years
El-rang needs a better wife, Marinora is like a parasite to El-rang, ruins his name by cheating and making love to his great grandson and also tried to ruin his making of the legendary signet ring. This was the second time El-rang found out that she was cheating on him. As they’re best friends, i think it would be just that he would divorce Marinora and put her in a court jester position as that’ll be vengeance served now that everyone else will be making fun of her instead of people making fun of El-Rang by calling him a cuck or a weak king as he cannot control his wife despite making her essentially a zombie. And seeing that he does still like her, this option is better then assassination.
If someone has high stewardship and is placed as wife, El-Rang could hold more land. Especially if he wants his dynasty of crowns.
I think it's fine to be tyrannical now and then so long as it's in character. If he feels strongly enough that it would be just to imprison someone, then I think it would make sense for him to do so even if others think of him as tyrannical for it.
at this point you could do what you wanted to do from the beginning and marry a dremora, since marinora is unfaithful. you could still keep marinora close though, maybe as another important court position? steward? aldarch? who knows, a divorce doesn't have to be the end of a friendship, even for el-rang, especially not for el-rang, since he didn't do it for the sexy time. also, since his children are dying out, maybe he'd want a new heir to the throne? before he decides to become a lich of course, if that is even possible in the short amount of time he has left.
I think its so funny that the dustiest, crustiest woman in the realm has the most instances of cheating and secret lovers.
Hear me out here: El-Rag becomes a lich after reforming the religion, holy wars for kingdoms and puts family members on the thrones, then "retires", only keeping the imperial isle with the Kingdom of Fashion title for himself.
El-Rang did nothing out of character, he decided that the poet who called him lazy was not allowed to be remembered in history as being the person to forge his first crown, and in his petty nature decided to kill them before they could cement a place in the histories.
Interestingly I'd like to see El-Rangs memories tab to see what he's taken note of

elrang only zombified and married marinora as a way to assert dominance over his rival/lover. he hated her so much he fell in love, then when she spurned him in vengeance he bound her eternally to him. now that she has betrayed him again and again, even when magically compelled? i couldn't see any other response from elrang than to view her with absolute contempt. and you already had the idea of marrying a deadra when you took the zombie wife approach, now a female deadra courts you at the exact time marinora betrays you. its perfect, its fate, do it.
Fun Fact:
Since the Kingdom of Fashion is a titular title El-Rang can now relinquish the throne of Cyrod and forever remain a King.
