  1. When they smash the economy, people cant afford to ride.

When people cant afford tl ride, they try to steal rides.

When they try to steal rides, drivers' whose jobs are on the line try to make them pay because the economy is smashed and drivers "cant afford to be fired".

So a fight ensues. You have to be able to see this coming a mile away, in every industry relatively.

The system isnt fully to blame but I guarantee they take zero responsibility.

  3. I am really beginning see it is not worth your life or health to get in frivolous dispute with most people today because many of our brothers and sisters are super emotional, unstable mentally and will result in senseless killing. This should not be happening in today's times.

  4. all people are itching for an excuse to rage with their little metal gun instead of fists or words. lame cowards. and if the bus driver didnt stand his ground he would be looked further down upon and taken advantage of possibly even losing his job for letting people get away on free fares yet speaking up cost him to get shot… hmm

  6. I wish these "reporters" would learn: the driver wasn't killed because of $2.50. The driver was killed because an evil person wanted to kill someone. It just sounds so much more dramatic to wax philosophical and dramatically tell us that someone died over a $2.50 fare. Evil is evil. When did we become so sophisticated and brainwashed?

  7. Public service should no longer be an option in certain neighborhoods this is ridiculous at what point it makes sense to go to work I personally blame Martha a Martha police officer should ride on the bus and train at all time

  9. This is sad prayers for the bus driver who lost his life 💔🙏 2025 starting off bad. The terrorist running over killing innocent people & shooting them, man blown himself up & injured people in Vegas, shootings in NYC slashing pushing people in front of trains. Whew. Lord have mercy.🙏💔

  10. This is sad.
I read comment about it being
the usual suspects. Don't forget about the ones that have a history of committing awful acts with smiles on their faces. 😐
The list is long, but here's one.

  11. Seems like everyone in the comments is stupid. So they are arguing over a fare. The driver should have just been mature and called police. Then the driver started making disparaging comments about they mama. Then he swung first. In my opinion he didn’t act with intelligence and lost his life.

I tell Marta drivers all the time “y’all worry about the wrong things”. Someone’s music 🎶 or phone call without headphones or a $2.50 fare ain’t worth ur lives.
Marta your drivers need to know they have agency to make the best well reasoned decision in the moment. Half the time ur fare boxes and gates are broken anyhow so why not allow your drivers to make the call as to when they wave a fare. Let it be dealt with at the station where in some instances you have officers, who btw should be on the trains and buses for the entire day not just an occasional pop in.
