On The Scene: Tourists are getting the chance to live out their intergalactic dreams on Earth as they don space suits to experience what it’s like to live on Mars at an astronaut training site in northwest China’s Gansu Province. The ‘Mars 1 Base’ astronaut training site, located in Jinchang City, boasts a landscape that resembles Mars with the Gobi Desert and mountains. Aerospace fans and tourists have been flocking to the site to get a feel for living on the “red planet”.
