I wonder, is Steve going to have the ability to effectively harvest more feed for the animals without human assistance, or will the animals eventually die of hunger?

so my question here. if his worries where about keeping the humankind going… why did he attack them? could they not try to make contact and then they have more humans alive for that purpose ?. also where in mars was he hiding ? how could they not spot them ? if the little girl does not know about the killings then its probably be years… how did they get here ? why they are only a few clearly unqualified people there ?
I have to watch the move to see if I can make sense of it.. but it seems to be really inconsistent to be any good

Thank you – this movie could have wasted 90-120 minutes of my life. Unless this recap totally missed the point, there was nothing to be gained from watching this movie.

There are some bizarre lines of dialogue in the recap: "they spot at least three individuals somewhere pretending to be six." What the hell does that even mean?
Easy to fix. “Off in the distance, Remy sees massive domes that appear to be inhabited by humans”. Too bad the movie producers didn’t think of this.
