Mars And Antarctica Are Warmer Than This City

Our planet sure is full of mysterious, unbelievable places, and some of them look like they came straight out of a sci-fi movie. The coldest place on Earth where people live in is Winnipeg in Canada, which once got as cold as the uninhabited planet of Mars. That meant that exposed skin could freeze in less than five minutes. In Senegal, Africa, lies a unique Lake Retba, or Lac Rose, as known by locals, which has become internationally famous for shining in its vivid pink color. Let’s look at these and other unique places around the world.

  1. Was lucky enough to the Waitomo Caves in NZ. If ur ever in NZ highly recommend going if u can make it. It’s a bit pricey but very much worth going. They do amazing cave tours and black water rafting there.

  2. I lived in Rapid City SD and Minot ND. Sometimes the temp went down to -40° or -50° F, (-40° or -46° C) and when the wind blew it could drop to -75° up to -90° F, (-59° to -68° C). So yeah it gets really cold in these parts. 😉

  3. There is a reason they call it Winterpeg.

I was there when it was -40C during the day twenty or so years ago. Went to Flin Flon, Manitoba which is further north a few years ago and it was much warmer at -20C.

  4. So then Wisconsin is colder than Mars and Antarctica to. Where I’m from in 2013 it got to be as cold as -58F. There was actually an upside down rainbow. This happens when there’s more ice in the atmosphere and the sun reflects the ice.
