David Whelan is definitely onto something here regarding a CIA mind-altered Chapman who can't recall actually shooting Lennon. You should read "John Lennon & the FBI Files" by Phil Strongman. Chapman was a nearly penniless janitor who was flown around the world, stayed in 5 star hotels and did time at several CIA indoctrination camps. FOIA requests finally got only some of the FBI files released 20 years after Lennon's death. J Edgar Hoover harbored an obsessive hatred for Lennon, who was talking out loud about hitting the protest rallies again after he'd secured his green card and was allowed to stay in the US. Similar to Sirhan Sirhan, who can't recall shooting RFK, Chapman ran around with some very spooky people and has always been comparable to a MK Ultra victim.
