  1. That frame looks so much better in real life and combined with those wheels that Chuck U. provided, you have a great starting point. Glad to see you folks posting again. I am looking forward to the weather improving in the next few weeks so that I can test out my Aluminum Comp project bike. The blue stem ties it in with the spokes. Will that chest protector inflate if you fall? (like a half body air bag).

  2. YES!!! Been craving a build video and you delivered, lol. That Marino is going to be so badass, can't wait to see the final product. Regarding getting back mentally after a big crash I totally agree. When I crashed my bike a few months ago going around a corner it's been probably 4 months since the crash and I still now prefer to take corners slow because I'm afraid the same thing is going to happen again.

  3. Wow, those Clarke's need to go on the Marino. That's going to be an amazing build and great trail/enduro hard tail. Gonna be a primo build and I'm guessing one of the best bikes you'll have ridden. Looking forward to the real time review of the Marino. Spindatt has a full suspension version of one of the Marino's and it's an awesome bike. Enjoy.

  4. Maybe take it to the 2 jumps at Cedar glades and get the fork dialed in/use to it before shredding down a trail!!! And have someone else on a bike go with you (besides another filming shot). I vote purple/blue stem.

  5. 13:48 ''Grease this guy''😝 Are you doing these innuendos intentionally?
The headset install went smoothly. Always a good idea to do one cup at the time. Not too light, and did not go in skewed, so tolerances are probably decent.

  6. 19:42 I looked it up, the grips are Race Face Getta Grips, they come in 30mm, 33mm, and they come in many colours:
Yellow, Green, Blue, Magenta, Red, Black,
black but with coloured clamp: Turquoise, Purple, Kashmoney ( like broze), Orange

I use RevGrips in 34mm, so these race face grips might fit me, just 1 mm smaller diameter. But I've not tried it. But I tried Easton grips in 30mm I think it was they were too small, so sold them years ago, but great grip and looked like new after long time. So Race Face grips last and grip well for long. But Easton don't do same parts with Easton branding, it's road bike only brand now, and Race Face is the MTB brand.

  7. 20:41 It's a FSA headset, at least the cover is, even if it says Giant on it, FSA made it. They have been their supplier for over a decade at least same with Trek. I'm curious how the FSA headset will do.
But I have horrible experience with them, headset failing in few days, collapsed bearing, crushed balls, metal shavings everywhere. Other one lasted about a year. Awful. They don't have a good rep when it comes to headsets. But I don't know what's the best headset to get on a budget, but that's an interesting topic.
Chris King is great, but a bit fiddly to work on, Not idiot proof, but so smooth, for so long. 10 years warranty, I'm sure it will last that long.
People seem to be happy with Hope Tech, but I've not tried it. I see Wolftooth has nice options too, but no idea on quality nor logn term performance. but judging by the Pack Pliers the quality is great, so I suspect the headsets mgiht be too.

  8. Don't get Leatt AirFlex Knee & Elbow. Not worth trying as they don't protect against impacts. Also mine cracked at whole pad area on both left and right knee and elbow pads. But were breathable.
But they also cause deep indents in the skin, stay one for the next day. I got a refund.
26:46 The pads you got there have D3O, which is soft, and flexible. Not sure on the venting n these. They also look thin.

  9. 29:40 looks nice, only bad thing I see is that the back plate does not go all the way down to the belt/waist area. Or does it? But you are not tall so might cover it all.
30:29 D30 padding and it's thick, so this will do nicely.

  10. You're going to love the shorter crankset. Ive installed those same Clark brakes on several bikes, many times there's issues with the stock olive going into the lever, so you might have to install a new one. I hope Wolfman got and enjoyed the cigars. Keep shredding πŸ€™

  12. Laughed at the beginning of this vid…combined with the "get off my hand!" …. I can see how you enjoy the poking fun at the wolf. Haha!

    Cool story about agent #19.

I lost (gave up a gift) by my brother…. was a 12in1 pocket sized Leatherman style tool. Less than 2 weeks old. The fine people at BWI thought that this could be a weapon of mass destruction… evidently box cutters are even worse.

  13. Great to see you back in the shop.

Strangely, I've just put a Goldix crankset on a bike I built up for Jacob, I'm really impressed with them. Was also looking at those Clarks brakes too, so I'm looking forward to your thoughts on them too

Great video as always gents, take care πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž
