First!
I agree about external routing cable. Most internal are soo unessesorry
Second baby ๐
Another great video guys. I cannot wait for Dan Marinoโs first ride!
You can pedal up and I'll ride it downhill!!!
Like the finished product! Bummed I'll miss Dan Marino at the Meet Up this year but hope to get out your way at some point.
Kings of the budget builds! Learned a lot from you guys
Dan Marino is looking great! On another vid I saw a cool EDS TX wireless groupset that would be perfect for this bike. It was installed on a budget gravel bike, for some unknowable reason;) 35lbs is pretty good for a nice steel bike with a suspension fork.
I refuse to embrace internal routing!!! It does look awesome & clean but I upgrade and work on my bikes too much. All my bikes are converted to e-bikes and even that required cable management and routing. I think internal routing is a fad that will eventually die out. I think people will eventually spend on wireless stuff or if they're willing to have wires they won't want them hidden & hard to work on.
Ignore the comments about how the saddle is supposed to be installed. Saddles have to be experimented and adjusted after you install them. ALL rear ends are different.
Finally! I've been waiting for this bike to be finished. Since the failure of Nukeproof bikes the Marino became the frame of choice for me to built myself a nice fun hardtail.
What knife are you using? Spyderco?
The guy who recently recovered from a broken wrist doesn't want thick, cushy grips? ๐ค @Wolfman – in his wisdom, was right to be skeptical.
FYI, technically you installed that dropper cabIe wrong, you put it on backwards. There should be a little metal barrel that clamps to the cable then inserts into the bottom of the dropper. Mine was rattling around in the bottom of the dropper box. I think your install should work fine but it's technically not right. I just installed the same exact dropper on my Poseidon Norton It's a KS Exa Form 900i, I paid $66.00 on AliExpress. Mine came with a knockoff, unbranded lever like your Wolftooth lever. The whole measuring and trying to figure out the cable and cable housing length scared me, until i realized I didn't actually have to cut the cable housing, it was the perfect length. But getting the stupid little metal barrel to fit on the cable and inserted into the little holder on the bottom of the dropper SUCKED. I thought I was good, i cycled the dropper about 20 times and it worked perfect. Then the first time I took it out on the trails I went to hit the dropper lever and i heard a pop and a rattling noise and the cable came out of the lever. The f***ing metal barrel had slipped off the cheap ass cable they include with the dropper. When i got home I had to fish the barrel out of my seat post tube, then I bought some different, thicker cable and used that, also instead of clipping the cable at that barrel I just bent it at a 90 degree angle and stuffed the extra cable in the seat post tube. Long story short the dropper works awesome now.
That seat looks cool but trust me you will learn to hate it
Those Tektro Orion 4 piston brakes came with my Giant Trance X3 and they are very good but I have always used Shimano and I'm used to the On/Off feeling of them so I ordered a Deore 4 piston brake set ( BR- M 6120 ) and saved those for the beautiful purple switchback, the cigars are from Cuban Crafters, the same cigar boutique where the other ones came from; I hope the Wolfman likes them and the brakes find a home in the purple switchback ….. and Yes, I'm taking it easy. Love you, guys.
Nice bike and those rotors are sweet.๐๐๐
Jeremiah drill and tap new holes and move it slightly back it'll work
Should add a link to the channel description for wolfs channel. Marino looks like its going to ride great.
I swear the sound of that hub is therapeutic
That bike needs a purple bottle cage. I use 50/50 grips, OneUp pedals and Wittkop Medicus saddle. Those Deity grips would work better on the Wolfman's electric bike. They are built to absorb vibrations.
I like the Marino, really nice looking bike, Iโm wondering if you feel the weight when youโre riding it. Thanks for mentioning my channel, hope them spacers are useful for you!
Internally routed cables or lines look very cool but the are a pain to work on.
My Giant Trance X3 is 32.5 pounds, that bike is not heavy at all.
Jeremiah, can you post the link to that pocket knife, please?
This bike will be sick. It already looks fun and it is not even finished
My full suspension weighs 36 lbs , thatโs a heavy hardtail๐ฎ
Those tektro orion 4 piston brakes are not great! They have a lot of play in the lever and lots of brake fade on decents,I had them before I upgraded to Hayes Dominion A4
Yall some funny ass weirdos in your intro. lol
Dudes…. that build is SWEET! Can't wait to see the real time review. Great job and the MTB community appreciates you guys!
That's one sassy bike โค
Laces out Dan!!! Old Isotoners is looking good. Wolfman should get that reference. I still have a little something something to send you. Loved the verbiage today. Cool stickers from Berserker and a decent mailtime haul. Rambling Wolfman's turntable mats would make an epic dork disc.
I sent that saddle quite a while ago.
From what we can see, it looks like a great build. I'm really looking forward to seeing it ridden. All my bikes years ago were steel and I really think I'm gonna have to get another one, they just feel more alive than aluminium.
Take care ๐ป๐๐
I need that shirt!๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
