New hidetsugu with footsteps of the goryo in modern for some jank
the affected player chooses in which order to apply the damage modifiers so they will always choose the less damage order which is double first then +2
Just want to point out, conduit of the worlds is secretly a good flash tribal card.
with errant and giada it could be pretty epic. You get to play a card from your graveyiard each turn and then play flash cards from the top of your library during the enemy turn.
Now i realy think battles should have cast triggers instead of etb's.
Speaking of color pie breaks, what's up with these blue convoke spells? I get that control is not the most beloved archetype but why is wizard's trying to force me to play creatures at all cost? CRIIIIIM
I am still upset that March of Machines are coming out in April not in March…
Hidetsugu teaming up with Kairi after what he did to Keiga… not the teamup I expected.
Hidetsugu and Kairi + Hidetsugu's Second Rite instakills the opponent from 20 life. Definitely feels intentional (but not easy to pull off.)
I tap 15 squirrels to cast my emrakul from exile.
38:40 Isnt city on fire + fiery emanzipation 9x damage? As it triples, then triples again right?
invasion of ikoria x=2 for hexmage seems good
Errant and Giada… Okay going back to Ikoria for the flash esper synergy
Brothershood end
Is Hidetsugu blasting a phyrexian obliterator in the art? Not a good idea, dude.
Wish seth would’ve commented on Ivasion of Segovia’s flavor, cause its A+
Seems like Invasion of Fiora might be the one battle that other players attack to get rid of your blink wrath.
I think monored burn needs the phoenix, I found the key issue was running out of cards mainly due to black decks so getting that bonus will be great
Agreed. Marchesa IS a reasonably sized baddie
Into the Fire also hits your opponents' battles? Ugh 👎👎👎
I think something else about Tribute to the Worldtree in non-commander is the fact if you have multiples, the first trigger can turn smaller creatures big enough for the next triggers to draw cards.
My least favorite type of card are flip cards.. every card this set- flip card 🫠
So far, this set has me hyped about all the Magic story that's happened for the past few years. I'm wondering what it would look like to make a cube around March of the Machines. Maybe each two-color archetype would represent a plane that gets invaded, with Phyrexians and Planeswalkers scattered throughout all colors?
Ikoria Battle: If you think about it a WORSE finale of devastation. You can noxious revival finale or something similar all formats have those green revival cards. But the battle stays on the field doing nothing but consuming resources. To turn on a creature with an ability you can search for with finalle anyway.
Fiora Battle: There way betters one sided wrath out there. Marchesa is interesting tho, removing counters open very fun combos.
Hoarding Broodlord: Convoke always is very powerful. Convoking whatever you exiled with stuff like elder brain or colfenor plans is very interessing also.
Into the fire: A decent red card, rare those days.
Bloodfeather Phoenix: A decent red card, rare those days.
Close the circuit: Now thats an instant
Knight Errant: I don't see people playing it outside standard.
Hidegtsu and Kairi: 5 mana for a brainstorm wtf plus they don't have flash for the brainstorm to by useful either.
Errant and Giada: Top of library cast is busted
City on Fire: game closer
Doomskar: Wordly tutor with extra steps.
Inga and Esika: Card draw commanders are fun. Of all the pairing cards those where one of the few they put some effort for a spin, most of them are straight effects from the original cards.
Sevioga Battle: Straight convoke support
Tribute: Power creep for the sake of it. Well its better than just a functional reprint I guess.
About the UNC, I'm glad they giving phyrexians classic tribal supports with the +1/+1 stuff, but do people even play tribals like that yet?
Green hasn't had good draw and it has been suffering for it. I'm predicting 4 in every green deck.
just looking at hoarding broodlord's "spells you cast from exile have convoke" ability got me thinking, foretold spells are cast from exile. you can convoke things like alrund's epiphany or haunting voyage.
Then i remembered dream devourer exists, so basically you could convoke anything and everything. might be worth trying in explorer lol.
i kinda wanna build a commander deck in grixis where broodlord tutors 1drop red noncreature spells, birgi pays for them, and displacer kitten replaces them by blinking broodlord so you can keep tutoring every red noncreature 1drop in your deck. was thinking it would go nicely with zevlor as commander to get good value out of spot removal, plus overall synergy with the magecraft suite of storm kiln artist/sedgemoor witch/archmage emeritus. Balmor to make everything big and tramply when you storm off. May as well add Lier so you can cast all your non-permanent spells again from the graveyard and protect yourself from counters
Seth sounds like he is at 3 poison counters 😅
Here’s a question: if you have multiple tributes to the world tree on the battlefield, and you play a 1/1, do the triggers on the stack make it into a 3/3 then let you draw cards for any additional tributes on the stack?
38:40 City on Fire and Fiery Emancipation is 9x damage, not 6.
Hidetsugu and Kairi, Emrakul on top, Tree of perdition and an infernal grasp… AGAINST THE ODDS TIME BABY!! xD
Wow, with the battle typing being a permanent on the field, is there a chance we can get a legendary battle – seige type? And if so, how could we explain the difference in the story of a battle being just a "battle" versus a "legendary battle"?😂😂😂
Battles are busted with “ALL WILL BE ONE” enchantment!!!
Battles are busted with “ALL WILL BE ONE” enchantment!!!
I think he might genuinely be slow… How the fuck is he so bad at reading?
turn 1-arbor elf
turn 2-land,any utopia sprawl effect, battle of ikoria-hexmage, free 8/8
Close the circuit with the alara battle is gonna be INSANE
that and Invoke despair 😭
Damage modifier points here: City on Fire plus Torbrand = x3 then +2 (unless the player/controller of the affected permanent chooses to +2 then triple). Also, Fiery emancipation and City on Fire total up to 9x damage
A 1/1 with trample? But… What? Why?
Errant and Giadia will make my U/W flash Scam deck in modern that I recently went 4-1 in a league. Granted idk if it'll end up being worth it but it's definitely going to get tried along with the new Champion Flash card (2/1 flier that draws you a card when an opponent draws their second card in a turn). I've gotten the deck close to being a legit competitive deck.
btw Seth triple doubled is not 6x the damage, it's 3^2
man this set is all over the place lol a little bit of something for everyone! I'm really digging incubate! def got the EDH brew juices flowing. NOW i have baited breath on if ima see tovolar pop up again in a team up or a 'rexian make over!
I think this set will just chaos fuck magic more to say the least of other shits.
