I don't usually do this, but this reminded me of a movie. It's older, but not super old. One of the last movies that John Carpenter made for the theater. Ghosts of Mars. It's not slime mold, but it is mold spores, and it's definitely aimed at preventing colonization of Mars. It's one of those movies that if you like it, it's great, and it has a few actors that have become much bigger stars since then. Check it out.
Another excellent episode, but there are a couple of foods I won’t eat ever again.
