In Australia the only version of the film that is available, has one of the horrible alternative ending replacing the true ending. I remember the theatrical ending where he's back in his original time, telling the story to his co-worker, but when the film came to vhs and later dvd and blu-ray, they replaced the ending where he takes a sleeping potion and seals himself up in a cave. The idea being that he would sleep through the centuries until he would wake up in his own modern era. But Ash accidentally takes too many drops and wakes up to find the world decimated by an apocalypse. Basically a Planet of the Apes ending. With him screaming at the ruined structures in lament. This crap finale ruined the whole experience.

When Army of Darkness came out on video a friend of mine told me about it but said watch Evil Dead 1 n 2 first but I didn’t listen and watched them in 3, 2, 1 order, then took shrooms and watched them in correct order the fallowing day.
