California contractor Robert Pendergrast watched on a neighbor’s surveillance camera as his pickup truck was stolen. Lucky for him, he had an Apple Air Tag in the trunk. The Christmas gift came in handy, as it showed Pendergrast the exact location of his truck, in real time. Minutes later, he was in hot pursuit. He called the police and gave them a running blow-by-blow account of his truck’s whereabouts.

You sure not say where was your divise man
I wonder why someone would steal an old truck ,
Bro gave away his AirTag spot
I didn’t know the Apple AirTag would give quick updates like that. Mine don’t
Well done owner, soon all the matters will be in our hands as the police gradually give up
When I bought my 2023 F-250 a few months ago, the lady was telling me about the “Ford Pass” app. She said one of the perks was that if my trick was stolen, I could give the police access to the app so they could find it. I told her if my truck is stolen, I’ll go to it myself.
Potential danger to the theif. They would get a bunch of whoop ass!
Excellent
Wouldn't the thief have to have an iPhone for this to work? Wouldn't the thief know there is an airtag?
Notice how he " just got the truck back??"
Suspicious
Did I miss the part that they caught the person?
cops dont liek you making them look bad. someone has to do their job better.
I have it in all my cars
Yes, we the law abiding citizens should never call the police for help,
unless we just crossed the border and need directions to the Liquir store.
If it isn't yours, leave it alone.
The law is powerless to help you, not punish you
Beware of a criminal in possession of a stolen vehicle. He's highly likely to be in possession of a stolen firearm too. Crooks commit different types of crimes to support their criminal lifestyles.
Authorities warn you of doing their job for them. So they can stay at Krispy Kreme.
Keep in mind you can use force to prevent theft and if it rises to deadly level then you can use deadly force. At least where i live. Don't care about where you live.
Because we don't need the police anymore we have technology where everyone spies on everyone
Commiefornia, enough said
So did you get the guy
Listen America if you don't do it the cops sure aren't going to if it's not served to them they're not going to put effort into it they care about officer safety not public
Notice how there is nothing about the person who stole the truck? Freaking California is worthless.
YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO DON'T WAIT ON NOBODY
Don't rely on the government to protect you or your stuff from criminals. It's not a priority to them.
Guess what will happen when we all get micro chipped. Those is 'supposed' authority still won't help if someone gets abducted. If agencies won't assist in recovering stolen inanimate property, you can be sure getting loved ones back will be harder. Step up to the plate, fathers. Protect your family.
It may be Dangerous to take matters into our own hands. But it is better than a police telling you, nothing they can do. The DA letting them off the hook.
Time we people take back our country . From thieves and the lawful thieves "the Government "
It's your truck, don't let some nanny cop or newscaster tell you following the thief is too dangerous for mere mortals.
Must have been borrowed by one of Joe's New Amerricans…
The only danger is having an faith that the tyrants in blue will recover your vehicle
I love those air tags.
Probably an illegal
The only advice I'd add is that there is no need to follow someone all that close, you have the air tags, wait until the truck stops and show up with your keys and take it back.
Do you know the way to San Jose ?
"Authorities warn about taking matters like this into your own hands" When you don't let cops do their jobs, this will become more common.
How did it help him out when he saw it take off and followed it
Surprised the owner wasn’t arrested for preventing the thief from stealing his truck and keeping it
Cops don't really go out of their way to track down your stolen stuff. If it ends up in their lap, yes they'll let you know. Other than that you won't hear a word from them
The idiot in the car probably had an Apple phone…
You shouldn’t tell anyone where the AirTag is lol. That defeats the purpose
My car has built in GPS, as most cars do…
30 minute chase while on the phone with police. 30 minutes ? WTH 30 minutes? Should've been 10 or less.
Cops can't do anything about it.
It's considered as pitty theft.
The cops don't have the resources to bother with stolen truck.
Especially the States that defunds the police.
