It’s no secret that offshore wind projects, energy storage, and solar projects are booming around the world. So why has Denmark decided to build artificial islands in the ocean as part of its strategy? Today we’re going to talk about the REAL reason Denmark is Building a Renewable Energy Island, and why they believe they have the blueprint for future renewable projects. But is it just an expensive waste of time? Or might this actually be a key step in a truly renewable energy future? Man-Made Energy Island Megaproject FINALLY ends Oil & Gas!

This is going to be as big of a flop as the California rail project!
Looks like the most expensive electricity ever produced.
Why not raise 100 million hamsters to run in their little wheels? The added benefit is the hamsters love to run at night when the sun doesn't shine, the wind may not be blowing and everyone is charging their overpriced EVs.
Thanks for the well-explained video. In today's world, with a belligerent Russia, I would be concerned with having this island as a SPOF. IOW, in a peaceful world, this is a great project.
Also, what's the likelihood that this project will actually provide the designed level of output? Don't wind turbines have a life cycle? Has sea level rise been taken into account?
They should develop deep water desalination you can use the pressure of the ocean to push the saltwater through the membrane, that would save a ton of power and serve as desalination with minimal impact on fossil fuels.
“Ends oil and gas “ 😂 delusional.
No end of stupid ideas come from governments!!
Reading all of the numerous and very well informed comments here so far the arguments are beginning to diverge into two main groups: one group appears to be seeking cheaper energy solutions and the other seems to be seeking greener energy solutions. If they ever do converge, (which I don’t think they will) – then the energy crisis will be solved!
ok, not a fan of your style, or your delivery. you begin by second guessing Denmark, then you're the champion of denmark? pick a side two bit davinci? more like two bit hustler.
Russia, is not the problem…Russia oil to the US is 3%…the problem furthermore is the Ukraine…where you have the HQ of the DeepState. Putin is keeping the DeepState out of Russia, yet you have the politics of the WH telling you the exact opposite…this is factual…or ask yourself why does any money coming from the USA get run thru the Ukraine…it is being laundered by the DeepState…
Looking at the island is it designed so that the North Sea storms don’t swamp it or flood over it! There are huge waves with the storms🤔
A big part of the problem is having politicians arbitrarily setting targets in the future. The market is already moving more to solar and wind, these laws and arbitrary dates will make energy much more expensive before they get to their planned goal.
With these windfarms wouldn't it affect the traveling winds and impact the natural flow that is nature, like collossal wind restrictors?
Don't know if by Europe you mean the European Union but the UK has 11.3gw of offshore wind by August 2022 and the EU had 14.6 gw by 2021. So 12gw is not the same as the whole of the Europe combined.
Don't tell the US Navy Seals about any of this. Their bosses are on course to Own The Weather by 2025. What's to stop the Weather Wars spilling over the Atlantic…and the Americans switching off the Europeans' last breath of naturally-occurring wind?
We'll see . . . "big supplier of oil" is a bit of a stretch haha. As a Dane, I simply do not understand this opinion of "people don't wanna see a line of wind turbines in the horizon" – I live really close to them, on an island in the Fjord and I love them, I find them beautiful and magnificent – I hear them on days where wind blow in our direction. I'm a relatively sound sensitive person and it doesn't bother me with the poof-poof-poof. They're a constant reminder of how little you are, both physically and in the grand philosophical scale. They are the best thing happened in newer times for renewable energy and although our energy prices are insane right now, it's will come out on the better side. Also a small sidenote to your great presentation; we do not use the dollar sign $ for our currency, it's DKK internationally and KR nationally ❤️ Xx
who slept with this fudes momma? and gave birth to this…
Great work, thank you.
I always wonder on these wind farms; who, if anyone, how, if even possible, and where are these HUGE turbines and blades being recycled? Horrible sentence, but I'm too lazy to correct it, lol.
What a horribly expensive way to throw plastic into the sea.
SeaWorld? You are so out of touch.
The whole concept sounds like a nightmare to me. In the US, windfarms and solar fields have not delivered the energy that was expected. These concepts do not favorably compare to oil and gas production, power, or price economics. In the US, it's going to be a cold winter, with blackouts and brownouts especially where states are reliant on green power, such as California. I give Denmark credit for trying, but giving up on oil production is totally nuts, in my view. These are optimistic, socialistic trends, and the timing is way off. You see what happened to the futuristic sand islands of Dubai. Be realistic, not foolish.
You're making the presumption that wind turbines are ugly when you say "marred with the sight of wind turbines"…
Personally I love the sight of them!!!
Why do you pretend that $40 BILLION of infrastructure is going to be "zero carbon". That is a MASSIVE amount of energy and materials. You also totally ignore energy and materials required to maintain this gigantuan fleet of wind turbines. Take off your rose tinted Californian specs and the silly "saving the planet" smile and do some honest calculations.
Since the concept of energy islands was launched there have been very promising political developments. Within weeks of hearing about the project, the Germans signed up with the Danes tobe a financial and technical partner; something that's very unusual in German politics circles. This move by the Germans has also awaken the interest of other EU countries, thus a high-level meeting was call for all interested parties in Copenhagen and now more EU countries have signed up to the Danish renewable power initiative.
Similar projects are now tobe plane for the Danish territorial water of the Baltic Sea; these project will mainly service Germany and other counties in the Baltic Sea area, thus this will also including Denmark. Even a country like Poland, that has no renewables whatsoever, have singed up to the Baltic Sea project. The Dane have give great thought to this power-concept and the sums have been done. A little country with a big brain that have taught us that renewables, have more that a very high potential.
The chart about how much of the energy is renewable is not quite true it is the electrical energy that is ~50% renewable not all energy for heating etc.
Wind turbines are beautiful. They are not ugly like your car.
Isn't the term "carbon footprint" a phrase coined by BP to distract from their obvious environmental impacts?
Time they undertake to build renewable energy projects in countries like Indiaand Africa!!!!!
"Man-Made Energy Island Megaproject FINALLY ends Oil & Gas!" Well, that's an outright LIE !!!
I thought wind turbines with blades were out dated.
All very cool stuff. Makes me proud to be Danish.
Why did you use the $ sign when specifically talking about the danish kroner?
Are humans causing climate change? Yes, say 97% of scientists; no, say most millionaires and billionaires. Moreover, to wean the free world from its dependence on Russian oil, coal, and gas, we need these kinds of energy: solar, photovoltaic, wind, wave, hydro, geothermal, tidal, biomass, and hydrogen–fuel cells tech. But for the next 1000 years we also need nuclear fusion. Someday, however, we will need to get energy from tiny black holes. 💕☮🌎🌌
We are very seldom held up by the scientists or engineers, it is usually politicians, nimbies or red tape.
Ending oil and gas is not an option. The world will collapse. People will starve. Every ship uses diesel or gas.
Batteries are extremely toxic. You can’t dispose of them. You’ll also need to build a lot more nuclear power plants.
Our economies are also based on the Petro dollar. This is a lose lose,..
If you drive an ev from Florida to NY you spend 2 extra days on the trip, mostly waiting for the car to charge. Then It will cost you almost $150 to charge…
Gas is far better..
california is a liberal hell hole. they all believe in the perfect liberal leftist eutopia…the one that only exists where unicorns roam…
California will someday be a great state again…when the libs are voted out and the center-right take control of their liberal dumb agenda…
The reason is that the Denmark government is dumber than a brick and its people are dumber.
California is retarded when it comes to water, it makes sense right now to be building desalination plants and they are going to need them eventually. but now they will need to build them after they have a shortage of water not before……
im just a little confused on how the island will pay for it's self in 10 years when at max it'll generate $6 billion a year. You said it'll cost roughly $210 billion to build. 10×6 = $60 billion generated in 10years?
What is the life span of a wind turbine? – and what do you do with it when that life is over? They are made from glass fibre and like all materials, there is a certain amount of stress cycles it can stand before it fails – is glass fibre recyclable? If not, what do you do with hundreds of tons of used glass fibre?
worthy is the Lamb and the one seated on the throne Revelation 5:14
'''''''''''' 2Esdras2: 31-100 '''''''''''''''''''''''
what a disaster, it's not enough to destroy the environment with wind turbs on land. They gotta go into the sea to fk up sea life.
Go do your own research, wind energy = not green at all. If you want cleanest energy go for solar.
The manufacturer, materials, maintenance and eventual decommissioning of wind turbines is not at all green. Add to that the need to store the energy for times when output is low. That means an unbelievable amount of batteries that in themselves are totally un-green and which use vast amounts of rare metals and other resources … mined under terrible conditions. Energy production is one thing … energy STORAGE is a far bigger issue, which is FAR from being resolved.
You can promote this nonsense as much as you like. Common sense – REAL Facts and Figures and Logic will prevail – we cannot survive on wind and solar as you will see this winter if the Green policies are allowed to dominate the political strategic foolishness. You can shove your wind-farms where it fits best – the real cost of these hopelessly ineffective systems will come home to roost within 15 years – and sink into the ocean of economic ruin they are creating.
Do a review of how it would be insured and the cost thereof.
