An 81-year-old man is charged with murder after thinking the victim was connected to a scam. William Brock received a threatening call last month from someone demanding money. The scammers also called Loletha Hall, an Uber driver, to pick up a package from Brock’s home. Brock confronted Hall with a gun, believing she was connected to the threats. He is now charged with her murder. Warning: The video in this story is disturbing.

Thank God she had her camera on. This story might be different if she didn’t. She was zero threat, backing away, no weapons, no cellphone, trying to leave. Yes, the scammers put 2 ppl in that situation, but a reasonable person wouldn’t of murdered her.

One way to avoid this is to ID verify every uber client/worker so that no one can get away from making tragedies like this.

She was backing up and literally screaming for help. There was no threat. No one deserves that unnecessary outcome.
In addition, a good lawyer will be able to go after Uber as they and their app. has a flaw, in that it can get their own people killed.

This World has become unbeliveable! I fear what will be left to our Legacy. Children, GrandChildren etc. I am not agianst weapons. I am against the people who are allowed to aquire weapons. Example: In South GA. some Individuals have Children that have anger issues " throw temper tantrums in public" etc. however they still take them out and teach them how to hunt via. shoot guns. My question is why? Does anyone have an answer?
He wasn’t a victim because he didn’t get scam I was attempt but he wasn’t scam we all get scam calls all he was hang up or black the call or just ignore it she was the only victim in this case

You can just see it. If I was in that situation, there's no way I would confuse her as someone who's involved in a scam operation. Yeah some random 60+ year old black lady who's dressed nicely is involved in that. He should have just tried talking with her and he would have understand she's just some random uber driver.

The first clue Pops isn't all there is the fact he spent over2 hours on the phone with the scammers instead of hanging up..calling the police. This signaled to the scammers that Pops isn't playing with a full deck, so they persisted and the end result is some poor Uber delivery lady gets murdered by him.

So if the scammer was in Canada, where was she to deliver the package she was to pick up???? Why is no one asking this? Was she affiliated with the scammer previously?

He just wanted to use his firearm! He clearly would not let her explain the misunderstanding because he did not want to! And he lied its just heartbreaking how fearful she was and what she was thinking as this was happening.

I know this was a scam, he killed an innocent person. No clue on her part..He shot her point blank. Why an elderly person has a gun , shouldn't be. He had no choice decision..pray for her family. Ohio is tough. He be lucky he gets light sentence. Sad.

1. the 81yr man planned out the scam since he knew what the lady was there for and he was supposedly expecting to be harmed.
2. the 61yr female Uber driver may have had malicious intentions as scams that target older generation are growing.
3. The caller may have scammed them both . How was Uber involved in a package delivery? If the messages from the scammer read that the package exchange would occur that day, why did the driver want to step on his property that day with a dash camera on, as he was saying "…yeah I know what you're after.." to her inquiry "I'm here to pick up/deliver a package.." her birthdate tells me she had her sun☀️ in Pisces ♓ . Pisces 🐟♓are known for carrying out malicious plots and in some way manage to appear innocent. I see that she was not armed or attacking the man. I suspect a certain community is more upset about the brutality of her death rather than questioning: did she have malicious intentions?
Those questions are also important to ask for safety of our community.
