As a mom to nearly 13-year-old identical twin girls who have non-verbal autism, I want to thank you deeply for this. Less than a week ago, I wrote a blog post about the need for greater awareness of profound autism, and this feels like the universe responded. Over years of intensive therapy, my daughters’ communication skills have slowly progressed, revealing glimpses of their brilliant minds and the deep knowledge they carry within, often unseen by the world.
