We have deer 🦌 in south Australia my brother in-law hunts and butchers it for us amazing to eat
we do have feral deer and pigs all over the country and we can hunt them at any time, I hunt both and do a big smoke up on my off set smoker

True that deer are not native to Australia but someone introduced deer here to North East Victoria where I live and they've been let loose. On my way back from Mooroopna this morning, I saw a stag near the horseshoe bend in Harry's Creek Road. I've also seen a doe as well a baby deer. Those bastards are almost as bad as the Skippys (roos) although they seem to have slightly better road sense than Skippy! (Bastard things!)
The feral deer problem is being talked about on the radio as a problem that may spread foot and mouth disease that is ravaging Bali now and may spread to Australia. If it does it will have a hundreds of billions dollar impact on agriculture here.
In the early seventies California shot 20,000 white tail deer to successfully control a foot an mouth disease outbreak.
We may take action here after it is too late.

New Zealand also has a pretty big car culture for a small country. Drag racing, lots of Hot Rods and Muscle cars. Lots of events and car shows. I know you love Holdens but if you're interested search you tube for some videos of The Beach Hop. An amazing yearly event held in the small town of Whangamata in the North Island of NZ. They are hunted by many many people or meat,trophies and sport

We have wild deer but its like pigs, foxes, goats, rabits, camals etc introduced and let free into bush (nsw)
Actually we do have wild deer, just not as common as in the U.S.
Actually I used to live in a place called Esk (Brisbane valley, near Somerset dam) and the Esk council logo is deer or antlers…I'm not sure…was 20 years ago.
In that area out in the country you would occasional see them.
There is also plenty of wild mountain goats and pigs aswell.
I doubt any of these animals are native, but they most certainly do exist.
