  1. While for the most part I think it's a good thing that you're calling out market manipulation in these videos, particularly the kind being done by places like LastSavePoint, I don't think you're doing any good by pointing out the cards being listed for truly ridiculous prices like that one $999 card you mentioned in this video.

Those aren't attempts to manipulate the market or trick people into adding those cards via the card optimizer. Make no mistake, attempts to trick people into overpaying due to the card optimizer ABSOLUTELY exist (as you point out often, when you reference places like LastSavePoint) but that's not what these are. $1000 bulk is to obvious to fool even the most careless shopper, and being too obvious the entire intent of these listings.

The reason listings like this exist is because sellers need to keep a certain amount of inventory available to qualify for certain things, like Direct status, or if not direct status, then better shipping profiles. (i.e. the places that can offer free shipping if you buy $5 or more, etc.) When they don't want to keep enough inventory online, they will often list something they don't actually intend to sell for a ridiculous price, just to meet the minimum. These don't really impact TCG Market price, though, and situations like the one you listed here, where a card like this is the only copy available from a Direct seller so the ridiculous price is the first one you see, are few and far between.

It might be worth complaining about TCGPlayer's policies driving stores to do something this nonsensical, of course, but I don't think it's shady or manipulative on the part of the seller, and I think that focusing on the practice detracts attention away from the actual attempts at manipulation, where people list a card for like 5 dollars or so more than it's worth, which pretty clearly ARE actual attempts to trick people using the optimizer and drive up the price of a card.

  2. As someone that hasn't been following this series very closely, can someone explain to me in a bit more detail exactly what's been happening with these scams? I want to be as informed as possible when buying cards

  3. BDSM will never be accepted….even though it has helped heal trauma….it is BDSM that WOTC has an issue with….for which i find offensive as hell….glad they relaxed on "religious freedom"….and Wiccans and Pagans also use the pentaclepentagram…plenty of devils and demons in MTG anyway….

  4. I find it kinda concerning that they didn't bring back earthbind, but just released the new art for bearscape? So cards being sexually suggestive is perfectly fine if it is just men? As for the pentagram, I don't see what the big deal is, but I don't care for religion, so 🤷‍♂

  5. As far as card censorship goes, and attitudes in general, WotC will do whatever the loudest voices tell them to. Years ago it was "family first" groups, and today it's Twitter. If people on Twitter decide that the concept of colored mana is offensive, and that all colors should be the same, they'll reprint the game with all colorless mana with a "heartfelt" apology. They'll also ban Rebecca Guay from working ever again because she has used color in her artwork before, that monster. The world should be inoffensive grey goo, so that everyone can share in the joyless D+ grade life that these whining shitheels have.

  6. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to post-malone with this comment. Getting a signed secret lair from him is like getting a signed secret lair from Debarge. They aren't Michael Jackson or Prince, and the market is too small for this to have value in the future. Even if he died this moment, he isn't part of popular culture.

  7. Thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy with Bearscape
Pearl clutching to the extreme. Can't have any spicey women, but a gay bathhouse is fine and dandy lol

  8. I appreciate the opinions you put forth with your market watches. I appreciate you pointing out WoTC’s hypocrisy and desperation too. I may not be buying their products anymore, but I need to know when to sell. You got yourself a subscriber.

  9. Please continue to identify the scam sellers on TCGPLAYER who tamper the market for people who are just trying to build commander decks on an affordable* budget. It has really helped me save money and learn how to navigate TCGPLAYER’s buyer platform. Had I known then what I know now . . . Thanks for your help, and keep up the great videos.

  10. THANK you for calling out WotC’s bullshit about "offensive cards". 30A bans Crusade but Bad Moon gets a pass. Malfeshnee can’t have nipples but we get an entire secret lair dedicated to the worst of the seven deadly sins. This is why I always buy cards secondhand and will NEVER support WotC directly. This is also why I primarily play Yu-Gi-Oh even though Mystic Mine is still unbanned.
