Could there still be hope for the Rivers of America at Disney World?
Each week, we cover the top stories in Disney Parks news and discuss the topics that are at the top of the Disney community’s mind. All in 60 minutes!
Welcome to ParksCenter on WDWNT.TV! We’re back with more news and discussing the latest happenings in Disney Parks. Join us live at 9pm ET!
Last week, we discussed all the attractions that would be leaving soon to make way for the new projects discussed at the D23: Ultimate Disney Fan Event last month. Now it seems that the proposed Cars-themed land might have hit a snag. The State of Florida is asking for permit revisions to transform Tom Sawyer Island & Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom. With this new hurdle and the backlash from fans about losing the iconic river, could we see Disney revise these plans? We’ll discuss it tonight.
Remember riding in the front of the monorail? Disneyland is bringing that experience back for guests for the first time since the 2020 closures. In 2009, after a tragic accident at Walt Disney World, the policy was changed to no longer allow “co-pilots” in the front. Could this mean a return to this offering in Florida as well?
Jollywood Nights, the hard-ticketed party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is returning for 2024. We’ve now received some additional details for how they plan to plus out this event for this year, including an ice skating show called “Glisten!” We also have more news on characters, and the special treat at the night’s end.
Magic Kingdom is notorious for subpar counter-service foods. One of our favorites, Pecos Bill, has gotten a menu upgrade! We’ll take a look at the new offerings and share our thoughts.
Six Flags has instituted a new chaperone policy for teens, and now Universal guests are calling for a similar policy for Halloween Horror Nights. But beyond that, should there be a better policy at Disney Parks as well? Where do you fall on this topic? Our panel has some differing opinions.
Also, new pavement in Adventureland, Extended hours for EPCOT this holiday season, Rise of the Resistance is offering Single Rider again, and much more!

I read the article and I saw that the NYC school staff that were part of this fraud were fired, but they should’ve been put in jail too. What they did was illegal and disgusting. They should have to pay back the money. And they should have to do community service for the homeless, like a homeless shelter or something.
Will you be attending Jollywood this year?
Good show 👍
Thank you all for giving me something to live for week to week! I have been having a tough time and you all get me through. You are awesome as a team!
I hope The Rivers of America never goes away.
Totally agree with your synopsis on the chaperone policy. I totally get why Six Flags has the policy though because there were swarms of teens coming to the park to fight and wreak havoc, especially during Fright Fest. Not sure that it will be effective, but I get why they’re trying to prevent the ongoing issue.
