  2. Johnny Carson has given large sums of money to his hometown Norfolk Nebraska. He contributed to a cancer center, High School theater and museum to name a few. His foundation continues to provide money for local projects as well as the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is a home town hero

  4. I have enjoyed a b&b, not Airbnb, but basically the same. Both times we shared with fam or friends, and stayed at least a week. Both were in residential areas-which I kinda felt odd about when smoking outside at night. But really cute, clean, nice amenities and super friendly owners.

    However.
We already have too few homes for our populations in big cities and especially in amusement destination cities. Employees can’t afford to rent or buy in the same city they work in.

These vacation areas need to go back to the resort model. Stop sucking up all of our inventory!

  5. Hi, Mama Termite and fellow termites! Did you know BMW showcased a hydrogen Mini Cooper at the Frankfurt Auto show in 2004 and when it began selling them in California there was a two-year wait list? Did you know a bunch of MIT nerds used to hold a 10-day cross-country hydrogen car rally to show that even without a significant investment in the hydrogen fuel infrastructure you could still find enough to run your vehicle? Did you know municipalities such as Phoenix have hydrogen-powered public buses? That Nikola Motors makes heavy construction equipment that runs on hydrogen? That Ivys Energy makes public filling stations like E-vehicle plugs (but only Japan deems them critical enough to meeting their carbon emission reductions targets)? Hydrogen is made from water and its only byproduct is water. You could, 25 years ago, buy a hydrogen conversion kit for your car off the internet AND a home generator. It’s more safe than gasoline because it evaporates. And I wish I had a sense of humor like yours, but I don’t think even you can make this funny: Indigenous women and teens go missing in the communities that are forced to host mining “man camps” with impunity a lot. This is the only reason electric vehicles are being shoved down our throats: because of the numbers of collateral industries, such as the mining and manufacture of the filthy batteries, that depend on this unsustainable and environmentally (not to mention, human) degrading industry. And it’s not just in America; Flin Flon Manitoba, is a polluted waste land with poisoned water because of the lithium mining there, and indigenous people have been fighting for their treaty rights to clean water for years. Becoming independent from Chinese lithium is not the only thing to consider here (and I would argue you should be more concerned about the end of Panda Diplomacy in Sino-American relations than anything. They’d never nuke a panda, but now that those little cuties are leaving the US plan on seeing more cooperation between Xi and Putin). Yeah. Those man camps. Read U Penn’s Jeremy Rifkin’s The Hydrogen Economy, and thank you for coming to my TED Talk. https://youtu.be/uLO7ClVtlBA?si=L9DZV9sR_Di90B8H
