0:40 Wait what? 192Gb is gigantic? How do you then call the 2048Gb or 2Tb on AMD Threadrippers based workstations? For 9'500USD you can get Lenovo workstation with 24 cores Threadripper, whooooping 256Gb of RAM with possibility to add more, 2 x 2Tb SSDs + for good mesure 4x4Tb HDD in RAID5 , for volume of 12Tb), Nvidia RTX A5000 and again you can add more or upgrade to even faster ones if you need, same 10Gb like on Mac Pro. And very important 3 years of ON-SITE warranty.
For the same money Apple gives you 24 cores CPU , 192Gb RAM (so 64Gb less), 1Tb SSD !! (laughable), 76 cores GPU similar to GPU I selected, but can not be replaced or be upgraded. No other gpu can be added. And that is that. On-site warranty is optional (499USD for 3yrs). If I go to 4Tb SSD like on Lenovo the price is 10'599.
Apple really shot themselves in the foot. These are overpriced. Interest rates are high, so no one is going to finance once, and there are better alternatives for a lot less. Apple for some reason believes they don't need to compete on price. They keep losing user base year, over year now, and their sales are down far more than other computer manufacturers.
This is for the guy that has $10k just laying around, that won't use it, and wants desk art.
This kind of seems like theyre just putting m2 ultra in the mac pro just to finish the transition from intel. Seems like theres another chip coming thats more powerful than ultra that will release later on. I dont think this is the end goal for the Mac Pro.
Apple cannot ever be taken serious at this price level without upgradeable ram and the ability to use GPUs not made by them.
They can fix this by allowing pcie 4 based memory expansion, slower than onchip but faster than ssds.
And allowing and GPUs, that work on the previous Mac pro to work and with ai and ray tracing being huge they may want to reconsider Nvidia and even Intel.
Their CPU is massively under powered at this price level even the planned and can elled 48 core extreme version would have been a hard sake. .I expect apple to add and GPU support that they already have and pcie based memory expansion in the future or this is a bigger fail then the trash can Mac pro
So…. We’ve got PCIE 4.0…. Does that mean graphics cards might be an option in the future? There are some specialty cases where a highend GPU may out perform the m2Ultra. (I am assuming AMD GPU’s)
I know the M series is an all in one chip but seriously? No self expandable RAM or storage options or even GPU output support. Takes away what makes a Mac Pro special workstation computer.
of course its going to be 3 times faster. The mac pros are using a 28 core locked xeon based on the Skylake architecture from 2016. thats nearly 7 years ago

A pro computer where you can’t upgrade the ram and that doesn’t come with a discrete GPU. Apple truly went off the rails

lack of GPU option is really lame. come on at least an AMD card?
Apple pulled a fauci and Pfizer vaccine styled scam lie over promise and under delivered knowing you were lying all the time for profits.
2:11 3x faster compared to “intel based Mac”
My 2011 Mac pro has 128GB. In terms of shear amount of ram not that impressive.

Its exactly what I need – Apple SOC with PCIe slots
😂😂😂😂 apple
haha
$69.99
They somehow made a worse machine than the 2013 Mac Pro.
Can this be used this for gaming? 🤔 like a gaming pc ?
yeah but can it run minecraft?
I gueas their target audience are the devs who are stucked with apple to compile ios apps
This sucks so much
This is will be marginally faster than my netbook.

Why do they talk to us like we're children

apple for monggoloids 🤣😂😂
I think apple is doing a favor for ARM chips, x86 might be not reliable in the future
But can it run Crysis?
