  1. Hardcore is tough, I'm having a hard time on easy, let alone turning the hunters on. And I like it that way. To me gathering resources and running away from cougars is plenty fun. What I'm trying to say is: you do you. The bridge and the cliff base are works of art and I am sure that the next base you're going to build in the new area is going to be just as amazing as these are. šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘

  2. I appreciate you rolling the idea of Hardcore around in your head. You are right I tune in for your personality and the fun, but you also have to realize as the viewer some of that fun is when you are being pressured by the game. šŸ˜€

  4. I enjoy watching you play more than I like playing myself, lol. I havenā€™t said before, but I found your channel at a really bad time in my life, I was unwell and getting worse due to a long undiagnosed condition, and it got to a point where I couldnā€™t do anything but lie in bed and watch videos to keep my mind off the pain. I so wanted to play these games, but I couldnā€™t handle sitting up at a computer, and my hands wouldnā€™t work from the nerve issues. I finally got a diagnosis and corrective surgery in 2018, upgraded to a system that could at least handle some games, and started playing now that I felt so much better. But I still really enjoy watching you, Emma and a few others play. Youā€™ve really kind of kept me company in a horrible time in my life, so thank you. Itā€™s why still come back, because itā€™s comforting.

I donā€™t know if youā€™ve considered the game Grounded as a fall back, if your MD season comes to a natural close or you want to try something else. It may be a lot more fighty than youā€™d want to play for funzies (the bugs and spiders are tough, fast and freaky!) but the base building and graphics are pretty amazing in that game as well. I love watching others play it, but I dont think I could handle it myself, lol, my reaction times arenā€™t great, and since I got better Ive put most of my game play hours into Planet Zoo for the chill. If Grounded isnā€™t your cup of tea, thatā€™s cool, Iā€™m still always here for Subsistance and your fun personality, Ohno. Just wanted to share a bit of my story, since youā€™ve been so kind to answer my questions so often.

  5. I don't think you should do anything you wouldn't enjoy. It's your enjoyment playing the way you do is what makes you enjoyable to watch and I don't think I would enjoy hardcore either! You should leave that match so you can start the fire next time you visit. Great episode Ohno. Thank you xx

  6. i have watched hardcore break a good content creator, sure its all in how you perceive it. if you take it too serious yeah it would ruin your subsistence experience, it becomes not fun anymore. but seeing someone who once loved the game literally quit the game because of them loosing everything do to dying was sad to me, they didn't play for almost a year to come back and try to rebuild what they lost. its almost better to perma death in hardcore. so i would not wish it on anyone to be torn down by hardcore. only a certain kind of personality can do it….im not saying you could not handle it. but i agree with what you say about why you do not do a hard core game.

  7. I love how you traverse the map where others just run šŸ˜‰šŸ˜˜. ā€œDo I have a shell?ā€ bang ā€œI do!! .. Reloadā€ šŸ¤£ You? Dad jokes? Iā€™d never noticed šŸ˜‰ Iā€™m with you on Hardcore. I play it on and off for the personal challenge and experience but I donā€™t think Iā€™d be watchable playing it for a series as it isnā€™t fun. Iā€™m great at shooting the hunters and rogues but Iā€™m so bad at the game I wouldnā€™t get to the stage of having a bcu and them spawning in and me having something to shoot them with, before dying to a bear anyway šŸ˜‚ If you ever want to join me for an MP hardcore we could both be bad together and THAT would be funny šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ Oh and by the way, you donā€™t take risks with rogues? Hmm think the ā€œi have lots of health kits and bandagesā€ was a truer explanation šŸ˜‰ Keep being you my friend. Itā€™s what I watch you for. ā€œFishing rods are not acceptable logging equipmentā€ šŸ˜‚ This video helped bring a smile to my face on an otherwise bad (covid bedridden) sick day so thank you šŸ„°šŸ„°

  8. Completely with you 100% Ohno, if something doesn't appeal and you might not enjoy it- why would you want to try hard mode? If you do ever decide to dip a toe into HM, I'd suggest a week doing it offline and see if you still enjoy the game, if you do well and good- maybe start a new catalogue of game logs HM for us to share with you- if not, nothing lost; you tried and it wasn't spiced to your liking! Loved the episode as ever Ohno, many thanks.

  9. I had started a hardcore game prior to the sneak peek of the next release, which led me back to my main game to prep more. I'm happy to say I've not died yet, but wow is it more of a grind than normal mode. It's been a good experiment, and has been somewhat enjoyable as a challenge, but not 100% sure I'm going to play it through to late game. I'm 20 something days in and only just got a small 2 foundation base enclosed. You have to move more slowly in general and you spook rabbits and chickens from a much further distance, so food is real tough early on. I'm sure once I get all the gear and guns it'll be a lot easier, but I was definitely a lot 'jumpier' (on edge) playing it. Which as a consumer of your entertainment content, could be funny to watch you go through. LOL – even though you probably wouldn't carry the season on very long as you'd need to cut out the long boring bits and the game play is just slower. Love this series though – of all the Subsistence you tubers – you're the only one I'm still watching =)

  10. I really believe if you ever stop your running chicken monologue (that crosses games even) my hubby would be one sad dude. He doesn't game at all but he just cracks up every time you "start the chicken thing."

  11. Hi Ohno, you know the only exception I take with you not doing a hardcore season is your doubt in yourself to do it. I'm confident you could. Whether you do or not is entirely up to you. I do not have the confidence to try it nor the skill. I've been on my current profile as long as you've been on this one, and I'm sure I've died three times more than you have. I totally get the point of having fun, and thank goodness for silliness and corny jokes. Speaking of such things, "Lootin' and Scootin'", I love it. šŸ˜€

Until next time when we keep lootin' and scootin'; stay safe, be well, and you have yourself a better one.

  12. No worries on the hardcore, it's simply should be called HardChore because that's what it is , zero fun more chores and everything costs more, slightly harder hunters , so yeah I'd say a no go on HardChore šŸ˜ƒ

  13. You should add 3 more power storage units to the bridge base then you'd have 5000 capacity which with 400 mass capacity would mean once the power is maxed out at 5000 you could turn the mass fabricator on and leave it and because it shuts off when full and your passive power input being more than the bases standard output your power would build back up and when you came back you'd have full power and mass waiting for you and you wouldn't have to worry about the drills or fridge turning off either.
