Star Wars has just released an excerpt from the new Luke Skywalker and Lando book titled Star Wars and the Shadow of the Sith, on their website for all to read. I was not expecting this to go where it did.
Anakin shows up as a force ghost, wielding his lightsaber, takes Luke’s hand amidst a battle with 9 Snoke beings with red lightsabers, and vanishes with him.
What the heck is going on? This is wild.
Let’s go through it and I can give my discombobulated thoughts on it.
What are you thoughts on this? Do you like that Anakin isn’t really gone? Do you think this could set a new path for episode 10 or the shows that will come after Rise of Skywalker? Does this change the sequels for you?
For me, the sequels still don’t stand in my mind. That said, I think this is one way to move forwards with Anakin and Luke Skywalker still around and as powerful as ever. It’s cheap, and cheesy, but it’s better than them being gone…

I see alot of comments for star wars to be retconned. Doubt it can happen. The smoking gun is the prophecy of anakin ending the sith. The resurrection of palpatine(purely out of nostalgia), destroyed the prophecy paving the way for mary sue. Sad sad sad. Just let it die people. Star wars is ruined

As you say it's how they handle it. There's an excuse for certain Jedi to come back through the cosmic force, but if there's everyone and their dog coming back then it's a cheese fest and death means nothing.

Well now we see that Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga was right to have ghost characters in it.

This cannot repair the BIG FAIL that Sequels are! Never mind that Luke appears in The Mandalorian as the jedi master that he should be… All this, is gonna be RUINED as the Sequels are still canon. Luke is RUINED, Rey is a fucking Mary Sue. The events of the sequels are just stupid garbage without any plan… And in top of that… You return with Palpatine with all the NONSENSE and a stupid idiotic plot, and then Disney get the Mary Sue to STEAL the f*king Skywalker name to herself… Just plain SHIT.
Star Wars IS DEAD. And we need to start assuming it.
Even if the idea is from early drafts of episode VI, I think Lucas did an excellent decision of not keeping this shit in. It robs the universe of a sense of finality (which death should be) and therefore it robs any story of any stakes forever. If you actually can fight and interact physically as a force ghost, all Jedi should just learn this skill and then kill themselves….no its just not a good idea. Death should be final in some sense to make for a good story and it was clear that force ghosts are only strong connections between Jedi that knew each other and serve as kind of a psychological support but in no way as a physical. This fixes nothing, it further destroys everything that was good from the OT.
The Ghost Force > The Force.
So if your Fore Ghost dies, can you become Double Ghost Force?

Honestly, I still see the sequels as a bad trip after Luke tries death sticks for the first time.
This whole thing reads like a shitty D&D encounter where you can’t win until the DM’s overpowered NPC shows up to save the day.
I dont like it. There has to be stakes in story telling. With this, theres none. You can just die then come back and fight a war. Not for me

I think it would be great if a force ghost can fight other none living things! That would make the most sense. Because if they could fight the living then you would have to explain why they have never helped anyone!

What if they pull with Anakin appearing to Luke in the same capacity Obi-Wan did in the early Thrawn novels? He becomes Luke’s mentor and they get to know one another.
This is just getting wild. This is the problem I had with the sequel trilogy. One of the many problems I had. Is that if a force ghost can interact with physical objects, like when Luke grabs the lightsaber that Rey tries to throw in the fire. If he can do that then why not just have Luke who is an experienced Jedi master, go after palatine himself. I mean this changes everything. If force ghost can hold a lightsaber they can use it to fight. Imagine Luke as a force ghost going after the first order, final order, who ever, and just kickin ass and no one cam hurt him cause he’s a ghost. And apparently force ghost can use the force to move physical objects as well cause Luke just lifts his old ship out of the water. If force ghost can do these things, we don’t need Rey. Yoga, obi-wan, and Luke can handle this. And if that’s the case why didn’t they handle it much sooner. It’s so stupid. There has to be limits to what our hero’s can do, you know, if they can just do anything then there’s no fight. There were limits to what could be done with the force in the first 6 movies. Limits that made our hero’s venerable, so they had to work hard to win and we were always worried for them and excited when they pulled it off. If they can just do what ever when it’s convenient then there’s no struggle, what’s the point. Now I’m only familiar with the movies and I’ve seen the clone wars animated show and Kenobi. So I don’t know everything about the force and how it works. But I know that having a force ghost be able to use physical objects is just dumb. It defeats the whole purpose of Rey, and just ruins the point of the story. And that’s just one of the major issues with the sequel trilogy. So I was pleasantly surprised at how good Kenobi was, cause I had given up on Star Wars in Disney’s hands.

Hey Star Wars Theory , I'm a little confused by the novel . So Kiza is wearing the mask , and is being controlled by that ancient Sith Lord, who ends up being the main antagonist of the book. But in the beginning , Kiza is part of a Sith Eternal emissary that gives Ochi the mission to get Rey for Sidious . Kiza puts Ochi in a trance in which Sidious speaks to him. But then later she is being controlled by the Sith in the mask the whole time who had his own agenda . So Ochi even says when she spoke to him he heard a male voice behind here's, which was the ancient Sith Lords's, as she gave him instructions from Sidious himself. So im completely lost . Was she working for Sidious ? Or the ancient Sith Lord ? Was the ancient Sith Lord working against Sidious ? Did Sidious not know there was a revived Sith Lord inside the mask controlling Kiza? , who Luke claimed was "more powerful than Palpatine". I feel like that's a huge plot hole . How would Sidious not know and perceive him as a threat ? Or was this Sith Lords goal to help Sidious the whole time ? Im just confused as hell. Hope you respond

Star Wars Theory I have the book Shadow Of The Sith and I read that bit about Anakin Skywalker showing in the scene and saving his son from the Sith Demons or Sith Wraiths and using his lightsaber I got emotional big time
8:39 The slide in of Snoke interview scared the hell out of me lol. I was looking away from the screen listening to the audio and then all of a sudden my eyes go towards the screen I'm like WTF?! 😆
We just need to ignore the sequels, which is hard to do when the cool shows are leading to them.
