So in November 2024, LOTRO launch(ed)* their Legacy of Morgoth expansion with its usual trio of packages. The Treasured Weapon Aura is part of the Ultimate Fan Bundle.
In this short video I’ve shown what this aura looks like on a 1-handed sword, 1-handed axe, shield (also one-handed, incidentally) and a bow (usually easier to fire if holding something in either hand).
What’s the Treasured Weapon Aura Like?

Well, this is a video site, but I often prefer to read blurb before deciding to watch a video here (or not)!
Depending on the item/weapon, this aura looks like either shifting or swirling sand, with the shield still showing the sand dust as well as the shifting sands.
Did I say “sand” too often? Never mind.

“Help! My aura isn’t showing on my outfit!”

No, you haven’t been scammed. or any other overused term. But you have hit a known bug. Often switching auras within an outfit doesn’t reflect that change. Changing your active outfit and coming back to one with the Treasured Weapon Aura also doesn’t fix it.
So far, the only sure-fire way I know of “forcing” it is:
1. Make sure you have that outfit active.
2. Log out and back in again.
Not ideal, but the world isn’t perfect.
