I've played a bunch of mmos that were TRUE pay to win
so like: on shop you could buy gear that wasnt even obtainable in game. things that dealt more damage or that were more pvp targeted.
thats the main reason why I dont call "gear upgrading with real money" a pay to win. pay to skip? maybe.

I never thought I'd say it, but having just left WoW in November & now playing Lost Ark. I'm enjoying myself more than I have in years. I'm playing more like a casual again, still chasing vertical progression but slowly this time. I'm not in the race for T3 and I'm not having FoMO if I dont log in or if I only log in for my Chaos Dungeons & 2 Raid lockouts & harvest the Farm/Cave. I'm not missing grinding all week just so i can be relevant & competitive on raid nights & dont have to be forced to participate in systems I hate like M+ to keep up. Game nailed it, not perfect but damn good. Enough in it to meet the player where they're at & not forcing the player down a tunnel.

Yeah bosses are dying to Berserker attacks with 2-4 hits, until you get into guardian raids and you are pulling the same strong slow attacks to ONE guardian for over 10 minutes…. it is so boring that I ended uninstalled the game. I prefer bosses to have less health to make it less boring and quicker grinded, but making them so agressive that it feels like awesome fight.

It's not pay to win… By everyone's logic does that mean warframe is pay to win? I think people's idea of pay to win has become as skewed as how they understand the difference between lag and poor performance
In which world this MMO ist p2w? You cant buy stuff for upgrades unlimited. You get a little bit each day if u r lucky. Yes you can trade this money into gold and buy mats on the market, but how is that p2w? 1. in pvp ur gearscore has no impact 2. all the gold u pay for mats goes to a f2p player who can buy the mats a week later for way less gold back. You have a tiny progress buff if u pay but thats it. No pay2win. You aint get special gear f2p-Player cant get, You ain´t get specific content if u pay, there is nothing where i can agree a statement this game is pay2win. So all the players who pushed theirselves 3-4 days earlier to endgame than grinding players, what you expect them to do? Ghostship 1360 with 4 players in a lobby? XD There was no sense to push urself that early, cuz it wasnt enough players in T3 till the grinding f2p players been there. No pay2win, sorry haters.
Definitely not pay to win, money wont beat end game bosses. Most of their things cant be traded or bought. It is pay to cap faster and that is not winning period. Its pay for convenience and that shouldn't matter to a real gamer because we like the grind. The whales keep the content coming for us free to play players and are needed.

the west version has a wierd start. miss the lvl 1-10 prolouge honestly. gives you the back story of your "class" instead of that shitty video we get in EU/NA

The p2w arguement basically comes down to 2 camps. There are those in the "gear is winning" camp, in which case the game IS p2w. And then there are those in the "clearing content is winning" camp in which case, swiping your CC won't clear the content for you. ilvl does get you to the door of the content, but you still have to clear it yourself. Is there some content that you can be carried through? Absolutely, but the stuff you can be carried through no one is swinging around in their dick measuring contest. Legion raids and the challenge raids require you to do the mechanics and stay alive. If you're on the floor dead or just running around avoiding aoes, the raid wipes to mechs or dps checks. So is Lost Ark p2w? Well, that depends entirely on your perspective.
The class thing I actually really liked. You choose a base, and then test the possible ways to play that base before actually having to choose.

I dont see lost ark as pay to win, really. II understand that you can buy you're way to easy button but is that really winning? If you like hard mode like you say, then free play is win. Its you're idea of what winning is, that's skewed (unless of course you can buy your way to top of pvp, then hell yea its pay to win).
