THIS VIDEO IS A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING SITUATION IN FLIGHT:
06-JAN-2023. A United Airlines Boeing 767-300 (B763), registration N663UA, performing flight UAL940 / UA940 from Newark Liberty International Airport, NJ (USA) to London Heathrow Airport (United Kingdom) during climb out of Newark requested to stop climb and stay in the area. Later the crew declared an emergency, reported loss of all navigation and requested return to Newark.

THE VALUE OF THIS VIDEO:
THE MAIN VALUE IS EDUCATION. This reconstruction will be useful for actual or future air traffic controllers and pilots, people who plan to connect life with aviation, who like aviation. With help of this video reconstruction you’ll learn how to use radiotelephony rules, Aviation English language and general English language (for people whose native language is not English) in situation in flight, which was shown. THE MAIN REASON I DO THIS IS TO HELP PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND EVERY EMERGENCY SITUATION, EVERY WORD AND EVERY MOVE OF AIRCRAFT.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.

Is concerning when all navigation is lost. How does that happen ? Consequences of losing navigation mid-atlantic is horrifying.
Nicely done by ATC in that busy airspace
well done, excellent comms, thank you!
Who remembers The Bob Newhart Show? Hi Bob. His neighbour Howard Borden was an airline navigator. They could use him.
Use the NDB!
Go direct to PNJ, then track the MB to EWR!!!!
Don't know if it is possible, but it would be nice to see a clock of the time of events as they happened.
Not all 767s have fuel dumping. United spec’d that in its models.
I love hearing such calm, attentive and helpful controllers. Great job by all!
"We have no navigation"
"Roger, fly heading 065"
"OK" 😎
you know you watch to many of these, when you have heard the same controller
Sure better when you're in the Jersey S hole, than halfway to the UK. I'll never get over how calm pilots are on the outside. It truly takes a special breed.
We've lost all navigation, okay turn heading 065……………………………..lol, yes, we understand, but it's still pretty remarkable!
This is UAL 940 not UAL 763
I'd love to know what the cause was of the loss of navigation. I assume they could still receive navaids but did not have RNAV capability.
I thought for sure they wouldn't make it because they never said the magic word.
United's 767-300's are 30 year old junkers
A bit of French accent on the other pilot 😊
With gas prices today I could use some of that fuel ⛽️ 😄
Just a joke.
Yes, but did they paint an elementary school?
