Los Angeles man’s Waymo ride goes awry: ‘That feeling was very uncomfortable’

  1. Just some kids on the side of the sidewalk or parking lot with their remote control and they took over the Waymo cab just having a little fun.
Anything that has remote access can be accessed remotely. There is no amount of security or firewalls that can block anybody from access..

  2. This guys is an idiot for getting in a driverless vehicle. As are our “leaders” for permitting liability free goods and services like self driving vehicles. If you participate in this type of automation,, you do not believe in freedom and you are not an American.

  3. I take waymos in LA all the time. Usually if there’s an issue customer service can take remote control of the vehicle but it looks like there was some sort of glitch happening. The support staff was probably trying to tell him to open the app and press “pull over” but of course he had to get his viral content in by complaining instead of direction following. Also: waymos in LA don’t currently go to LAX or Burbank so I’m not sure where he was trying to catch his flight but I don’t think the Waymo could take him there anyway. Last thing: if you miss your flight every airline but frontier will rebook you on another flight for free.
