Iβm not having any luck finding any more wolves anyplace Iβve gone. A Hound Hunter friend of mine told me there was tracks in this spot a few weeks ago, so I thought Iβd go take a look. The snow is starting to get βRottenβ and soft, not sure how far Iβll get.
Lets go find out!

The drive belt thing is a Polaris problem, just a bad design. Happened on the 4 wheelyβs also. Good luck finding those wolves. We have quit a few around us right now and we canβt do anything, even when they kill our cows. Oh and what kinda coat is that? You and Hillbilly have the same one and itβs pretty cool. Thanks. Have a good one!
I'm pretty sure I've been on that road. I'm not sure about this time of year, but in hunting season you could only drive up that drainage so far and it was gated off where the road crosses the creek. Steep country !
the biggest bobcat track I ever saw was about the size of a half dollar. That was in fresh wet snow so the track was highly visible. There are lots weβre I live. The big cats of Maine, which can tip the scales at 50-55 lbs leave a good track but never as big as a deer. Only chased them with hounds though. Good luck with your search ππ
Good morning π I think we're all a little weird that's what makes us unique. Thanks For another great video.
Ha ha nature donut.pretty neat as well as the critters on that knob .i bet they could see everything around them.nice views.good luck
Yep badger springs ridge would be good for wolves traveling. About 10 years ago about 3/4 mile above that sign up towards tv hill took the kid deer hunting and ran into a wolverine. I wasnt expecting to see one so far down to be honest at first i thought it was a fox then i noticed its lope.π right there as you get to toms property that fence line is a natural crossing for them as well.
Man, if you babble, I could listen to that babblin' all day, lol. Fun to be out 'n about exploring with you. Looking forward to seeing you use that snow dog again. I agree about the tire chains, they're a real pain in the arse. Thanks, take care and blessings till next time.
Morning fine sir π»
100% agree about the chains! The snow rolling down looks like a sea shell! Thank you for sharing this with us!ππ½πβ€οΈπΊπΈ
Cool Snownut , at the end …
Love the cuntry your in .
It's beautiful up there. Have a great day.
Good Day Gary ! You get to see that bear track. He text me & said that was last summer. Been cleaning chimney & stove today. 70 yesterday. Unusual winter this year. Say hi Cindy & good trapping!!!
Good afternoon friend hope you have a great day π
Δ€oly hell man my son has a 150 Ford reg cab very good tires he has snow up over the engine bontit
Looks like there are more big cats than wolves present in that spot. A fun fact is that even though mountain lions are large cats, they are not sorted as big cats because they cannot roar )))
Thanks for sharing, have a nice day!
great looking country Gary, I still marvel at how they allow you all to access Public Land in Idaho in the winter. The Forest Service locks everything up after Hunting season around here in South Central Mont.
do you trap mountain lion
the top of the mountain looks like a great elk hunting area
I never trust oil injection. Find out the recommended mix for that engine, and pre mix your gas in a dedicated gas can. Figure it out 1 time, mark it and let that oil injection tank go dry. This way you KNOW its getting oil. There may be an electrical disconnect you'll have to do in order to "not" have ignition interupted or even crank interupted. When you say "high quality" gas, you mean octane or corn free(ethanol free)? The higher oct is nice in air cooled stuff because its a cooler temp "boom" vs. a higher temp "ping" in the combustion chamber. Better especially if you're putting a good load on it, you can even have "pre-detonation" going up hills or such w/cheap low oct gas. The big thing is, don't put ethanol in anything. Even the eth-free gas is different too. When we were kids, if you spilled gas, you better clean it up before your dad seen it! Now….just wait a cpl minutes and its evaporated! I mix a shotglass of Marvel mystery oil in every gallon I put through my 4 stroke small engines. Throws fuel delivery system a bone with the absent lube they were all designed to have. I found this out in the early 90's when fuel WAS still good. I had an engine I was running that needed to be right around 100-103 oct but not really 106 and I was happy for that because I had house and tool payments. Found my affordable fix by running out to the airport n runnin' 100 oct AV gas (aviation fuel). I found out that stuff is dry as a cob and gum stuck a lot things in the ole dominator carb! But today's gas is ALL dry. Those needles get stuck n hung up too often nowadays. If you're storing it, put an enzyme in there like cpl cap fulls per gal of Startron (Star Brite) and wallah, that's the fuel run down in my opinion.
Good afternoon brother…like to hear your stories…100lbs. of sand bags in the front of the bed…let some air out of the tires… don't drag the bottom on a snow drift… and you can get along pretty well… until you get to the highway…gotta refill the tires again or go slow for a short distance…to the compressor…
Appreciate the ride and definitely enjoyed the views.
There is always next time. It might just be those good tracks with the paws in them. TIGHT CHAINS Muskrat!
Very beautiful country my friend.
Looks kinda small for a mountain lion track
I broke bunch of belts in my old artic cat snow machine. Turned out rust on the pulleys was the culprit. I cleaned them up with emery cloth. Coating of wd 40 at end of season helped out for storage till next season. They are alot of work to keep going.
I agree about tire chains too. Take care Gary.πΊπ²πͺπ₯π²
When I watch your videos at night Benjamin runs over and looks at the phone and howls
I'm not much of a snare guy but with all the crazy weather we are having I put out a few today… just piddling around trying to snag a few.
