Cracking video mate. One question I do have is, are there not still tracks in the cutting from under Kirkdale station that runs round the north of Stanley Park? Surely that could be expanded or reopened, and that would just leave the walk through the park to get to Anfield. Pretty sure it's an old goods train line that connects up at Wavertree?
I do tend to agree though that any rail link option will end up being too expensive and so not feasible π’
Keep up the good work mate, YNWA
I don't need to be told because I'm already aware it's nuts… but if future owners wanted to make a "statement", why not a touristy monorail from one of the existing stations that need linking. Could be operating constantly on match days etc, and every now and again other times for stadium access, but it would negate some of the logistical issues (while creating a whole host of others obviously!) But if it was a "money is no issue" sort fo owner I doubt that this would need to be an LFC project so it could be "independently" financed. Would be a heck of a sight π
There is no future expansion
There is no chance of buying all those houses and the hundreds of millions it will cost to put lines and stations in… And the disruption…. We can't do any more with Anfield if we're realistic!!!
The line at the north of Standly park goes underneath the houses and under the Kirkdale station north underground of Bank Hall station and joins the track towards heading north. You would have to build a new station underground at Kirkdale for it and you would need to go under the Cementary and build a link to an underground station by Anfield road and then circle back following Utting Avenue and turning back east following Pinehurst Avenue, you could use the old technec of digging up the a tunnel and then coverning it again through that bit but you would need tunning under the cementary and you could get say the Boring company to drill that short bit under the cementary. It is plausable but it would not be cheap
It will only be used once a fortnight, so is it worth it?.
FSG is not investing in the city infrastructure in that way.
Hi , just wondered where you stand on the fact that Man Utd who have the larger capacity ground probably around 76000 and I always feel that we should aim to get Anfield larger than that. If we were able to have the Kop rebuilt so that it straddles Walton Breck Road and obviously a new Sir Kenny Dalglish stand would usurp that figure I guess but obviously this will take a long time. It just annoys me that Old Trafford has the bigger capacity
It doesnβt have to be a train line, you can put extra buses on.
Why this on going guessing β¦ ?? β¦ there is a plan β¦ I believe β¦ sure LFC will release details when the time is right β¦ πππ
I would love the stadium to expend i hope it won't take to long as i have been in Liverpool twice but ever got to see our boys play at anfield because to get a ticket is difficult, but this gives me hope. Anyway thank you for the cool video of this things you don't get to see from the streets. Thx Greybeard!
So is there any guideline from government or fa or the safety advisory group that says a station must come right up to the ground?
Thinking of Wembley and the tube stations ones 10 minutes and others 15 minutes away..
Canβt find anything online about it..
Unfortunately, the criminals in charge of the Liverpool City Council would never help fund something like this as any money they receive goes into their own crooked pockets. Boss vid though, mate. YNWA. πππ
A station on the footprint of the old anfield station by Walton lane police station . Job done
Thank you for your video, Grey Beard Media. I recently visited Bangkok and was impressed by its excellent elevated train network that runs above the roadways. This type of infrastructure is a great solution for busy, congested city streets and could serve as a catalyst for improving public transport connections throughout the city.
When you say to build it to 65'000 that's only 4k more from the current
capacity. That's absolute foolishness to go through that hustle,as you detailed it, for
such an incremental increase. If the goal is 85-90'000k as it should be,now we have
a different conversation. That's my 2 cents on it
I'm a big liverpool supporter now got a i dea instead of going over ground how bout going underground for the mile or so to anfield and have a exit coming out at stanely park at a partπ of it ,it doesn't have to be to obvious and blended it in to the park area π just a thought
I would forget about having a station adjacent to Anfield. It would be far too expensive and couldn't be justified as it would only be used to its full capacity for a couple of hours ever fortnight during the season.
The best chance is with re=opening of the Canada Dock Branch to passenger services with a new station at Utting Avenue – around 15 minutes walk from the stadium.
The line is currently only used for freight to and from the Port of Liverpool. It would probably need re-signalling to add the capacity for a frequent passenger service. You would also need to re=open former stations at Tuebrook and Spellow to justify a service.
This has been proposed for years and would be very expensive but the easiest way to get rail access to Anfield.
Unbelievable footage, brilliant filming ! I have watched it twice.
Hello greybeard on a recent holiday to Thailand the station closest to Stanley park is the best what you have not considered is a sky train from the station to the ground . Bangkok has a sky train going around 8 /10 miles .lifts from the station to the sky train mark from cradley heath Birmingham
IF the Kop was ever getting extended I would suggest it won't be over the road. The road will more than likely move out to the church side. There isn't much over there and doesnβt have to move much and can then rejoin further down. A natural curve on it can accommodate a bigger Kop
Trams to the nearest line would be the cheapest option . But no money . Unless we sell out sole musky or Arabs its not going to happen its frustrating as most liverpool fans know we are bigger than united sick of them saying they are biggest club the potential for our club is gigantic pity owners dont see it .good video well done
