  1. In addition to his Dumble ODS's David Lindley did have a Dumble SSS, Lindley's SSS was a 100W 4X6L6. Eric Johnson also played a SSS for a time. I think EJ's and SRV's SSS's were both 150W 4X6550. Bonnie Rait used a SSS for a while and of course John Mayer.

  2. Mick ( Elsa ) Taylor " let it go, let it go) only kidding we all enjoy your philosophical musings & it's not very often you get this kind of advice on gear shows!! Any chance of getting Vanessa Felts on the show & Dr Phill ? ( In all seriousness your, I wouldn't say advice has helped me to stop bouncing off the walls over the years, in some ways it's like having a mirror to look at I can be somewhat obsessive!!! It runs in my family. Many years ago I borrowed a lawn mower from my now deceased mother & didn't return it on time & I shit you not she cut the lawn with a small pair of scissors !!! . Great show with Paul on Friday & Today . PEACE and LOVE to everyone .

  3. I personally enjoy the challenge of something like a new fret or neck shape that forces me to learn to play differently. The first time I played a little jackson soloist I was fretting EVERY note out of tune, but that made me realize how much energy I was wasting in my fretting hand most of the time. I still like to play hard, but that experience made me realize I don't NEED to play hard, which has helped add a new element to my playing. YMMV but food for thought!

  4. YouTube doesn't seem to want to let me include a comment with a Super Chat and it seems to happen every time. I did send a normal comment immediately after the Super Chat but it was greyed out for some reason🤷‍♂. The comment was along the lines of Love the show, the debate, philosophies, knowledge/advice. Great work and much love 💚

As to the tone wood debate, if the player's ears / senses are not sensitive to the frequencies, then for them tone wood does indeed make no difference. Let's all get along and accept that it is not the same for everyone.

  5. I keep looking at the big sky and night sky and am considering buying one of them, but I already have the Strymon flint which has a few reverbs. Is it worth investing in one of these pedals or not worth it if I already have a reverb in the flint.

  6. Commenting as an ex-Physics teacher, I think a lot of the alkaline myth is due to the fact that a new alkaline battery puts out 9.6volts…..it may take a fair bit of usage before it drops down to the voltage a new zinc-carbon battery puts out.
While I’m about it, internal resistance is caused as the chemicals that cause the voltage convert as they are used up. As they build up, voltage is lost.

  7. Lately, Im becoming very irked by the term "dual mono" (even I was using this term for some time). Because, what does it even describe? Wet/Dry makes perfect sense, Two amp setup makes perfect sense, Stereo is also very good term. But Dual mono means nothing.

Grumpiness off and thank you for great Q and A episode.

  8. Hello TPS! This month I've had the chance to see my two all-time guitar heroes live for the first time, Steve Vai and Phil Keaggy. Both men absolute masters of their craft. Now if we can just get an American tour of Andy Timmons and the TPS band…..

  9. I was wondering if you any one here have advise on an issue I’m having. I have a pedal board with multiple dc pedals and two ac pedals. I’m powering it with a voodoo power 2 and a voodoo power Ac. It worked fine for years but now for some reason at some venues when I engage the ac powered pedals my tone goes in and out and I have to unplug and Re plug just to get it working again. I can’t figure out if it the pedals or the power supply. And worst I can’t trouble shoot at home because it don’t happen at home :/ Any ideas? Help me lol

  10. The whole battery thing, I started playing back in the late 70's, and it was batteries in my Ross Distortion and MXR Phaser, same a bit later when I added an MXR Micro Amp and switched out the the Phaser for a Boss Flanger, but I had that Memory Man with the unground plug, so much fun getting zapped by the mic when going to sing and pedals dying cause the battery was gone, then having to pull out reverse the plug for the Memory Man, not going back to that crap just for "tone". A lot of these debates are for people who never had to deal with the crap we had to back in the day.

  11. I've never heard a proper Englishman say 'participle' before. My brain metaphorically broke. I'm laughing at myself so hard because I cannot reconcile how the same word can sound so different with such a relatively mild change lol. Cheers guys!
Who is the other San Antonio person? Let's grab a beer lol
