LIVE: US Unveils New Aid Package for Ukraine, Calls on Next Administration to “Build on US Strength”
US announced a $988 million aid package for Ukraine on December 7, including new arms and equipment for its war against Russia. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin revealed the package at the Reagan National Defense Forum, urging President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration to “make its own choice” on confronting Russia. Austin also encouraged the Trump administration to “build on the strength” of the Biden administration’s efforts. The package, part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, will fund HIMARS ammunition, drones, and artillery parts.

They thought they'd beat the Russian Army in 2022. They said the Russians would run out of weapons in 2023. Ukraine is demanded to conscript 18-25 year olds to fight in 2024. They think making the war worse will make it impossible to leave Ukraine 2025, but it is easy to leave Ukraine because no matter what they do, the war only gets worse – not better.

It is my understanding that in the beginning of this war, the USA sent a lot of stale and outdated amunations and supplies to Ukraine. This saved the USA the expense of either disposing of or storing them. As those supplies ran out, new munitions were manufactured in the USA, creating jobs in the USA. A win/win situation
