LIVE: Titanic submarine – US Coast Guard news conference on missing sub after ‘debris field found’. Debris has been discovered in the search for the missing Titanic submersible, the US Coast Guard dramatically announced today. Officials said the ‘debris field’ – meaning debris spread over an area – had been found by a remote operated vehicle (ROV) near to the famous wreck. Victor 6000, a French ROV that can reach depths of 20,000ft, has been searching on the ocean floor, while Canadian vessel Horizon Arctic has also deployed its own vehicle. The world has been praying for a ‘miracle’ after rescuers estimated the vital oxygen supply would end at 12.08pm UK time (7.08am EST and 9.08pm Sydney ). Banging has been heard at 30 minute intervals from the depths of the Atlantic – possibly from the men striking the side of the sub – but it has not yet been located.

Rear Adm. John Mauger, the First Coast Guard District commander, and Capt. Jamie Frederick, the First Coast Guard District response coordinator, hold a news conference on the search for the submersible with five people aboard, which has been missing in deep waters off the coast of Canada since Sunday.

  1. 🤡If, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger got shot, or a truckload of soldiers got blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when I say that one little group of submariners have died, then everyone loses their minds!!

  2. "Words of apology fail me for having sunk his Majesty’s Submarine No. 6."

"My subordinates are killed by my fault, but it is with pride that I inform you that the crew to a man have discharged their duties as sailors should with the utmost coolness until their dying moments."

These passeges and more were written by
Sakuma Tsutomu when tragedy struck the submarine he was commanding in April of 1910, two years before RMS Titanic sank.

"We now sacrifice our lives for the sake of our country, but my fear is that the disaster will affect the future development of submarines. It is therefore my hope that nothing will daunt your determination to study the submarine until it is a perfect machine, absolutely reliable. We can then die without regret."

  3. I don't believe they found a damn thing. Too convenient and too sudden after the loss of oxygen schedule for the sub. They are placating the families and public, and trying desperately not to seem as incompetent as they generally are. The 'banging' sounds were at half hour intervals, which means it was NOT random noise! These people are LYING through their teeth. Trust me, you will NEVER see pictures of the "debris field".

I caught them in several lies here. One being that the "debris field" was consistent with the last known area of communication. If that was the case, it would only have taken a few HOURS to check that area, possibly a day or two max with a couple unmanned remotes after communications ended. NOT 5 days! They found NOTHING! But believe whatever makes you feel safe. I hate liars!

  4. This is an insider sabotage. My theory is that a disgruntled islamophobic employee sabotaged the vessel out of envy of the Pakistani billionaire and his son. They historically did the same thing to African Americans and you should never trust white supremacist staff for critical life changing tasks. This happenes a lot inside the US and once I witnessed a bigoted Filipino Catholic male nurse purposely exposing a Kuwaiti newborn infant eye to UV rays inside an incubator. White supremacist always hide their idelogy and use accidents to get rid of the others.

  5. In all honesty I think the initial launch crew knew it had imploding before notifying the coast guard. Why else would they wait so long to ask for assistance? Companies are always more concerned with loss of profit rather than loss of life. Pretty sure they took that time to clean up the mission. Additionally I find it hard to believe that no one on the crew in the submersible didn’t have some sort of video logging.

  6. So, so sad. I feel at a loss to know what to say. There are no words that will express the grief people will feel when they hear this tragic news. Those poor men. I know that people around the world will be thinking of them and their loved ones today. RIP.

  7. Chee, where’s the sympathy for the ship of 800 immigrants that capsized off of Greece on Monday that no one wanted to go help with a current death toll of 82?

  8. Very unfortunate event. I suppose the excitement of seeing the Titanic, the worlds most famous ship wreck, in such deep water, overshadowed any consideration to structural soundness tests and safety concerns.
