A significant severe weather outbreak is expected to unfold over the Southern and Central Plains today, with the Storm Prediction Center having issued a 4/5 (Moderate) risk for severe weather. Large to giant hail in excess of 3 inches is likely, in addition to winds in excess of hurricane force and a few tornadoes across the risk area. We will have storm chasers across the risk today as well.
