Babylon 5 can be bought online from a variety of places, I got all 5 seasons on sale for like 60-70 bucks one year. I know Amazon hosts it and rotates it being available on prime. It's a phenomenal show (I actually don't like a lot of season 1 and recommend starting with season 2, but some folks love it so YMMV) and yes very much feels like it was the basis of the Mass Effect stories.
