  1. As a 15yr addict, all of Alex's testimony around drug use rings very true. It's frustrating to hear these attorneys talk about drug users as if they are all street junkies who can't form sentences. I was a functioning addict who could take huge amounts of Oxy's and still function normally. The only thing that separated Alex from the normal functioning addict was his ability to get his hands on gross amounts of money. If most addicts had his financial situation they would keep using until they died. Money is the number one thing that gets in addicts way.

  2. Wow, Jim’s closing was the worst I have ever seen/heard. No wonder there were “rumours” that Alec was going to fire his team and do his own closing! I thought Jim and Poot would be really good at closing, because God knows they do not know their objections. Whenever they objected, and the judge asked on what grounds they would say 401, 402, 403, 404. Please, dear God say that Maggie and Paul are looking down and little detectives work is all for not. If this is a hung jury, it’s simply because people are scared because I think there are a lot of important people in that area that were/are involved in shady dealings with Alec. 🙏🏼

  3. Jim makes it pretty clear that he would not have taken Alex's case on if he knew that Alex had been at the kennels the night of the murders. Alex lied to everybody and only fessed up on the stand, hoping that by telling one piece of Truth people might believe him about other things. I think it destroyed all credibility and the state's timeline holds together. The state has convinced me that Alex is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. And the defense has failed to rock me from that position.

  4. Just started…yikes. Idk this just…not a good rebuttal so far. He’s implying that the retired police chief lied? That they planted evidence? And why are they bringing up the T-shirt if the blood spatter expert wasn’t called..? Feels weak and grasping.

  5. If the "rain jacket" was the dads, or someone else's it would ALSO have DNA on it. It didn't have DNA on it BECAUSE Alex bought it specifically to move something…I was new! Why would a new jacket with NO DNA on it be COVERED in GSR?…..

  6. I like that the closing argument allowed Meadors to fill in and complete the thoughts of the disparate evidence. "The clothes" – he changed his close. Touching the bodies and is still clean. Reiterating Shelly and Blance – connecting the dots.

  7. Yikes again…have to agree with other commenters…this is lackluster. What happened? The defense had the better side to argue and this feels like a HUGE blunder. Did he change his belief in Alex’s innocence? Something feels so odd here. Was even he convinced by creighton’s close? This feels like a kid fumbling together a lousy set of lies to get out of trouble for knocking over a carton of milk..

  8. I’m a nurse . I’ve dealt with addition of friends and my practice as one. I have seen I have no doubt at least over 100 my a day may very on and off to the Amt. I believe a person like Alec to protect himself held him hostage so to speak he would pay more . But he had tried to stop. He didn’t kill his family when he was crapping his pants and throwing up. They are so weak to do that shows love . To his family . Most addicts always hide usually only a few will know. If he is guilty it would br not because of drugs it would be that he must look the best in the family . He stole to have a lifestyle that I’m sorry involved his wife . Maybe she doesn’t don’t understand his pain but I do not believe that. I could give money so you guys can see this . They did not pay attention to their kids . Maggie kept spending know if she had looked at all or cared this is more money than he would possibly ever make fast enough for their life style . She was spending money at the beach house right when his pills were found what kind of family denial is this ? Now I come to the point that none of them have said as human nature. Paul was going to jail. He could never servive there sorry my phone misspelled. With a diver spoon in his mouth . And Maggie would never have survived the lose of income the prestige she had or stay in a marriage that we all know wasn’t great. This man because of his faults will spend the rest of his life in jail . I prefer at least in this matter which is simple to just let the courts and our maker whatever your belief have it happen I could not ax a weak human who has faults decide this. Thank you

  9. I had a very hard time listening to both closings especially the prosecutor. Stopped watching 10 minutes in. The rebuttal was too ‘My Cousin Vinny’ for me.
Question: did anyone ever say why Paul’s phone wasn’t taken but Maggie’s was??

  10. The way both closing attorneys talk is mentally taxing. Half the time they don’t say the actual thing they are saying. I thought lawyers were better at this! It’s a lot of “you know” without the “you know”….Old boy’s club… Emily is basically translating for me.
