  1. Its a shame that previous presidents of Nigeria could not build to completion an ordinary intercharge for 15 whole years.

Thank you Mr. President for this show of capacity to deliver.

I know for sure that Nigeria will turn for the better under your leadership

  2. Just look st the common sense they used, pulling fct out of the TSA and that is how they have been able to get along since, doing all these projects. The fct minister under buhari's regime could not think that far. All he was doing was allocating land, employing miilons of people for no reason and then spending fct budget on paying salaries and pocketing the little that was left. Meanwhile, there was a lot of work to do. As soon as wike came in, he he tied FCT budget to projects and begged the president to get the FCT out of the Single treasury account. The same thing he did in river state, he tied the monthly allocation to projects and that is why fubabra is busy crying that river state is owing 200 billion. He has no money to throw around and share with his cohorts, the like of chief sara.

  3. A Nigerian wrote his experience in Nigerian prison
    Read
"No criminal returns from prison and changes. Or let me put it this way: out of every 100 persons released from jail, only 10 can be said to have been corrected and can now behave aright.

They may not even be up to 10. This is why anybody given jungle justice on the street had at different times gone to prison.

There are habitual criminals, and they're many. What you think isn't what they're thinking.

They tell you they made mistakes the other times, but can now give their acts perfect touch.

    This is how it works:

if someone stole a goat and was imprisoned, he'll find those who robbed banks or kidnapped people in his cell.

He'll now begin to see himself as not being man enough. He'll be mocked that ordinary goat brought him into jail,

that it's better he commits a huge crime and when caught and brought to jail, his jail will be justified. He's asked if strong men are called up, can he indicate himself as one. ?

From these obdurate talks almost every day, he's now being convinced that it's better to do a big crime and face jail than a little one and still face jail.

This is why you see them coming back to prison again and again after spending years earlier in jail.

There's a misconception people have about criminals in jail in Nigeria. Many say, let them rot in jail. It doesn't work that way.

The week I was released, one young man who had already served seven years in jail was discharged and acquitted by court. His crime was an alleged armed robbery that led to the death of some persons.

When arrested on a different date through the confessional statements of his men in police net,

he was brought into prison. There was no clear evidence to prove that he was actually a member of the syndicate. He was discharged by court.

When he was leaving, I overheard him tell someone that he was actually the one who fired the first shot that day. To him, he has cheated government. Dude is from Ohaukwu.

So, lack of evidence or witness can set a guilty criminal free just as poor investigation by police before rushing to court to prosecute suspected criminals.

Court doesn't just award guilt against a suspect when there's no convincing evidence against such a person. Sometimes, judges quarrel with police in court for shabby investigation before arraigning suspects.

Out of anger stemming from wasting the time of the court, the matter can just be struck out for lack of substance. A culpable criminal smiles out of the court home.

In a different scenario, some judges will say that, "my mind is telling me that you (the suspect) committed this crime, but I'll set you free because there's no evidence to convict you. Go and enjoy freedom and never commit crimes again. Don't abuse this costly luck. Did you hear me right ?"
