  1. You should watch Steve Carell and Thimothee Chalamet in the movie Beautiful Boy, such a phenomenal movie 💕 never liked Steve Carell as an actor until i watched that movie, he's fantastic in it 👏

  2. Oh my goodness! It's been years since I watched this! Your reactions were spot on. Such a quirky film with very memorable characters. I almost forgot about Alan Arkin! 😢 I always loved him in the movie "The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming. " You really need to watch that one. Thanks for making me laugh while I'm sitting here sick! I needed it! ❤😂

  3. Hats off to the writer, first time writer Michael Arndt, who wrote and re wrotet this script a hundred times or more to get it to where you see it, an absolute gem, the characters are just genius in how they develop especially the Dad who doesnt like losers but his arc takes him to saying its okay to be a loser, you are still good and human and you are loved…its also a helluva commentary on a slice of Americana and a side of life thats not particularly edifying….the horn and porn scene with the cop is hilarious 17 years later…

  4. I remember watching this movie because I thought it was going to be a light-hearted comedy, and then being so uncomfortable throughout. It's funny, but also so dark in places, and the family dynamics are so horrible. It's a great movie, but definitely not a light-hearted comedy 😂

As for other movies of this kind to watch, I'd love to see you react to Captain Fantastic. Features Viggo Mortensen, who played Aragorn in Lord of the Rings. It has very similar vibes to this one, albeit a completely different story.

  5. Love this movie and loved your reaction, Cassie! I laughcry during it, too, lol. The song I think of for the word Sunshine is a song by Nazareth called Sunshine. It's a love song which isn't their usual kind of song. A lyrics excerpt:
    "Sunshine, every single day

    Helps to light my way

And darlin', right before my eyes

It don't come as no surprise

    That it's easy

    Easy lovin' you"

Seems to fit Olive, lol. What a lovable character!

  6. The funniest thing in the movie is that Olive doing Grandpa's stripper routine is more wholesome than all the other painted doll children in the contest. PIB will probably never watch it, but if you want to see Toni Collette play a mother who is a complete 180 from Sheryl watch Hereditary.

  7. One of my favourite films that I think hardly anyone will know about is 'Peter's Friends'. It didn't do well at the box office, but it is literally a who's who of British Actors, starring Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh, Imelda Staunton, Tony Slattery, Richard Briers.
The characters are all very distinct and different and the interaction between them will keep you engaged and on your toes, with some great dialogue that will make you laugh out loud.
Highly recommend this small British film.

  8. I enjoyed this movie a lot the first time I saw it but over the years it's somehow got even better, because there isn't much like it. The cast is absolutely stacked as well, and everyone is fantastic.

  9. Oh, this one is a tearjerker in comedy's clothing. I love it so much though. The cast is just fantastic.
Also, the first song that comes to my mind is "let the sunshine, let the sunshine in!" from HAIR. 😄
