Listing Every Historical Inaccuracy in Call of Duty WW2

Call of Duty WW2 was hyped up before its release to be an extremely ”researched”, ”scanned” and ”historically authentic” video game. So today we put that to the test by analyzing and listing every historical inaccuracy that I was able to find in Call Of Duty WWII. There are likely more inaccuracies than what I mentioned in the video so please comment if you have any more or any corrections.

Your not in control of a 76mm Sherman. Instead your given control of the only 75mm Sherman in the game. Also it’s the only American tank model in this game that’s not a British Firefly.

  3. Just 2 small things about the M1 Garand: the sights on the M1 generally have a bit larger aperture than the photo you posted (that is a Post-WWII sight, and might be a national match sight, which had a smaller aperture), and when looking down the sight, as in aiming to shoot, the aperture on a standard sight looks pretty accurate to how the game portrays, just alot closer to your face.

As for the "Sledgehammer" engraved in the receiver, that was likely done for both copyright and serial number reasons. Not all of the companies that made M1s are still in business, but companies like Winchester and International Harvester still are (or at least the rights are owned by someone else), and Sledgehammer likely didn't want to pay the royalties to use them.

  4. Not to be that guy, but I think the Sherman had a 75 based on the characteristics you described for it, and penetration tables don’t really accurately provide a good basis for the penetration of a tank shell due to the array of things you can do to armor to make it stronger besides thickening it. Still, that shot should’ve gone clean through.
