  1. I think the reason they kept going to the Jawaan Taylor stuff was because it was happening every single play and was never corrected. They finally called him on it on a particularly egregious one in the 4th quarter. I got kind of tired of it, but they were right so I didn't really mind.

  2. Genuinely surprised by how hard Ol' Zeus was coping for this one. Blamed the lack of Kelce, lack of Jones, Toney's drops, then tries to write off the Chiefs RT lining up as a fullback all game and starting each snap 3 weeks before the ball had been moved.

Toney dropped 4 passes and so did Marvin Jones Jr. That's a wash.
Toney caused a turnover, so did Josh Reynolds. That's a wash.
KC was missing their game breaking TE, DET was missing their game breaking WR. That's a wash.
KC was missing their stud DL, DET had their stud DL negated by suspect alignment/snap jumping from KC's RT. That's a wash.

Kelce wasn't around for the game, KC TEs combined for a respectable 5/43/1 statline. Poor drafting, FA signings, and personnel management helped field KC's (currently) inept WR core. That's on the GM.
Chris Jones wasn't on the field to help stop DET's run game because he's not getting paid. That's on the GM.

How about let's give credit to Detroit for suffering the same types of self-inflicted mistakes and rising above it to win the game.
How about let's give credit to Detroit for finding ways to pressure Mahomes into overthrowing his WRs on multiple plays due to great DL play.
How about let's give credit to Detroit for clamping down on KC in the second half and not allowing any 3rd down conversions.
How about let's give credit to Brian Branch for being alert, stopping on a dime, and one-handing an interception before housing it.
How about let's give credit to Detroit for coming into a hostile environment, making mistakes themselves, and overcoming them to win against a talented, SB winning team.
How about let's give credit to Detroit for managing to consistently pressure Mahomes even when their interior OL was getting held consistently.

Winners make plays, losers make excuses, and I'm hearing a lot of excuses from some Chiefs fans, Ol' Zeusser amongst 'em.

  3. Isn't going for 4th and 20, or 25, sensible because Chiefs have to get 3 and out no matter what – it just is where field position would be? (Granted Chiefs would eventually have to travel farther to score.)

  4. Chiefs got some breaks too. Mainly like 20 false starts and illegal formations, a dropped game sealing pick by CJGJ that he normally gets. Marvin Jones coughing up his first fumble, also I know they aren't as accomplished. But no Emanuel Mosely or Jamo (bust jokes aside, he is a weapon that showed flashes last year)
ALL I heard all week was it doesn't matter who Mahomes throw to, Chiefs by 30.
    GO LIONS

  5. This is a bit convoluted if you are not up to speed with it but someone can reassure Marc that the interception marked down against Mahomes won't affect his PFF grade. They can't say it didn't happen but Mahomes would have been graded for the pass, which was fine. PFF do have a 'turnover worthy play' stat which does count against QBs, but that interception wasn't Mahomes fault so shouldn't have counted
