  16. The original should have had this vibe…. not even full blown rock but simply the vibe of something rock-like. Strange thing is that they already showed they could do it it with songs like Talking to Myself, or even with Nobody Can Save Me and Invisible (to a smaller extent) with their tempo, clearer integration of real drums, and a more audible presence of a guitar, even just as an atmospheric device in the choruses. These elements could have elevated the song but instead it bogged itself down with too much reliance on the generic-sounding electronics…. and especially that grating hi hat throughout the song. Your interpretation of adding acoustic guitar for the verses was exactly how I imagined it could made it more lively, and that's just the bare minimum. I know there IS a presence of guitar in the chorus of the original song but it was pushed so far back in the mix that it ends up being almost useless, serving merely as filler to the empty spaces between, yet inaudible enough to almost fail at fulfilling its function. It could have been mixed to be a little more exciting, like how the guitar was treated in Nobody Can Save Me. The original's melody was really fun though. It really would have been one of my favorite songs if it just wasn't so… boring, instrumentally. Many years later One More Light grew on me, but it remains an album with such failed potential… Great job as always zweirZ!!
