Line War is one of the strangest RTS games ever made

I’m honestly not sure if I actually like the game or not. There’s definitely a lot to enjoy and appreciate in the game, but there’s a lot that is incredibly frustrating, a lot of quality of life features that are missing. For example, units digging instead of firing back at the other unit who is shooting them and not being able to adjust lines – just move them, which is very weird. I never found a use-case for moving my lines, but I guess there must be one.

  1. I feel like the game would just need to make stuff a tad faster, remove some of the health from things, and either make the missles not litteral nukes, or just nerf the hell out of them, and I would see this as a really good and competative game

  2. There should be a debuf to nuking an area. Like, huge reductions in productivity for resources, or fallout is a thing that affects BOTH sides' units as they pass through.

  3. 3:30 Hoi4 does have sequenced orders, you can set up phase lines you just need to draw an attack order and then cycle through fronts as you draw another untill it selects the previous attack as the starting point

  4. I feel like it's too late to give advice, as one of the 80 people who play line war.
Would recommend trying it again but with someone who can help explain how some mechanics work, even AI coming out this year (just 1 dev)
Discord is really friendly and helpful too
